Hi Guys. I will take my first ACCA exam this December as a computer based exam. It will be financial reporting. I was wondering can I use the spreadsheet functionality also in section A and B to make some quick calculations?

A calculator should suffice for the OT sections. Moving between sections just to use a spreadsheet would be a waste of time.

Hmm does it mean I can’t open the spreadsheet functionality from every section? Sometimes the questions relate to assets being depreciated over like 5 years with some changes to the carrying amount on the bi-yearly basis so it is not always ideal to keep everything in just the calculator.

Spreadsheet is only available for constructed response answers but scientific calculator is available. I suggest you work through some of the exams available in CBE. On average an OT question should take 3.6 mins so shouldn’t be too demanding.

You can use the scratchpad to jot down workings.
