Short time on preparation from scratch

Hello Sir, I am planning on giving the P2 in March 2018. I only have P1 experience for ACCA as F1-F9 were exempt due to my university qualification. And right now I am focusing solely on P3 due on December. So I really need to know that my plan on start studying for P2 for March 2018 right after December 2017 P3 exam with only OT lectures & OT notes and revision kit is a good one or not? I do have an "idea" of consolidation from my university studies but quite a time has passed since then, or by my profile you suggest me grabbing a study text? I need to the point study without getting into unnecessary details. Regards

Hi, You need to work through the class notes and videos like you would do for any other subject. You will find that they go through the basics of all the standards, including those that were examined in F7 and groups, so that you will not be disadvantaged in any way. Don't let the fact that you've not studied the subject for a while be a barrier. You will be surprised how quickly things will come back to you. Thanks

Thanks sir, that is satisfying but I would like to highlight again that I have not studied F7 as real ACCA student - I was exempted - so shouldn't that be a barrier? Because as ACCA student this is just will just be my third paper. Regards

If you have been exempt from F7 then that is because you have the knowledge and are competent. The only barrier is if you've forgotten the knowledge but that shouldn't be the case. Thanks

Hello sir, just gave my P3 paper last Thursday. Now I need to focus for P2 for March 2018 attempt. 2 questions: I have my revision kit that I ordered with December P3 paper. Are there any changes in the syllabus or IFRS that should lead to change of notes by OpenTuition and a need for new revision kit? Secondly, if yes, then when will the updated OT notes and lectures for P2 be uploaded? Regards

Hi, P2 will stay as P2 for the March and June sitting next year, before then becoming SBR. Your revision kit and study text need to be up to date for the current exams. The last syllabus change was September 2017 and there will be no changes until the paper changes to SBR. Thanks

Sir, i have gone over till discontinued operations of OT videos/notes. Now should I go for the past papers or go for all videos/notes first and then jump on to past papers? Regards

Hi, I'd recommend that you get through the notes as soon as you can. Just ensure that you are doing the questions in the study text as you go. Thanks
