In the case of BCG matrix I don't that is necessary though because the model is so commonly referred to as the BCG matrix and the question will probably write it as that, too. It's a bit like why you would not write Chief Executive Office (CEO) out. If the question only mentions a portfolio analysis maybe mention the full name once of the model you're using just to be safe. So write something like "The portfolio can be analysed using the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) matrix. Now every other time you mention it write BCG matrix only.
