I received an email stating that my result has been nullified.
I made an appeal and they said that the reason was that my answers were same as some other student.
I dont understand how is this possible in “remote exams”, its technically impossible to connect with some other student.
Has same thing happened to someone else too? and if yes then what was acca’s response?

See here for exam regulations http://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/rules-and-regs/exam-regulations.html

If you cannot think of anything in your behaviour (however inadvertently) that could have put ACCA on enquiry to have had an expert watch and rewatch the recorded remote invigilation (alongside the timed recording of every interaction with the CBE software), you could consider taking legal advice. However, if you are allowed to continue taking exams, to move on and resit would be quicker.

Here is a relevant article about remote invigilation http://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/about-our-exams/remote-exams/on-demand-remote-exams/security.html

I just had few technical issues during the exam and my proctor called me twice on my mobile to tell me he was unable to see me… other than that nothing else happened.
And I removed my glasses twice or thrice because I was kinda irritated because of it as I am not used to wearing it.

In SBR exam a climate change related question came and I had read technical article relating to it the night before the exam and I remembered it almost word to word , maybe that caused a problem?

As a former examiner, I would expect markers (who are not “bots”) to recognise regurgitation of published articles. If this alone was the reason for nullification, there would be dozens of candidates similarly affected. As you are already in email correspondence with ACCA, I can only suggest that you go back to make further enquiry.

    sure, thankyou so much Kim.
I mailed them but they said no further comments can be made on my case until the conclusion of the appeal meeting.

Hi, did you hear back from ACCA? I had the same issue sitting AA in Sept, and I’ve sent them an email but haven’t had a reply. Did you appeal by paying them £50? Thanks, hopefully ACCA can sort this out for everyone!

@thatwater – it wasn’t clear from your original post that you were waiting on an outcome. In the meantime be sure to check your emails/myACCA for any communications from ACCA and to respond to any requests within any stated deadlines.

    Hey @thatwater
Can you please tell me what was the outcome of your appeal. I am having the same issue right now and they have nullified my result on the same grounds as yours.
It would be of great help.

I can’t add anything to the subject than I have already contributed to this post. I don’t know what you mean by “tag him”. This is a forum and users have to come to it to see and make posts, OpenTuition does not contact them directly or share personal contact details.

@harshita – I don’t think you can expect a response to someone who posted 6 months ago.

See here for some information from ACCA https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/exam-results/nullified-results.html

I don’t have anything to add beyond what I have already posted on this thread.
