Hi sir, I have completed my F-level exams and plan on giving SBR as my first professional paper. Any tips and ideas on how to tackle this exam? I gave FR in march 2019 so my concepts regarding financial reporting are very clear, still for SBR especially sep 2019 revised conceptual framework will be tested, how to deal with that.? Also if anyone has given SBR, how are the professional marks attained. I haven’t started my lectures yet on OT, will start soon. Should I use BPP or Kaplan study text.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

From my perspective then the key is the change in style of the exam. SBR is not about crunching lots of numbers, although there are some in there. It is about communicating your understanding of the rules to a specific scenario.

The paper is challenging but you always need to remember that all the rules from FR are the same, and it is now that they are being applied to more complex scenarios. So provided that you have the basic knowledge then you can do well.

The professional marks are achieved by writing in clear sentences, and through structuring your answer well using headings.

    Thanks
