There is no week 2 – since the number of issues has significantly decreased since the initial rush to introduce RI in the face of covid.

    See here https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/help/remote.html
“What happens if I lose internet connectivity during the exam?
A reliable internet connection is an essential minimum technical requirement for taking the exam. In the event of a connectivity interruption the exam software will save the exam and if immediate action is taken to restore the connection will allow you to restart your exam at the same point. We recommend using a wired connection as this will minimise the risk of connectivity issues disrupting your exam experience.”

Sir is it fine if i take my exam in an enclosed hall rather than a room? Or the proctor may object to it?

I get better Internet connectivity in the hall, than anywhere else in my house.

P.S.- this holds relevance for me, because I’ll be taking my exam on a PC that is not movable, so instant changes won’t be an option for me.

    @Noah098 – see here https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/help/remote.html

Where can I take the exam?
You can sit your exam at home, or an alternative location such as your learning provider or in your office. However, there are some important regulations which must be followed:

You must be sat at a desk in a CLOSED quiet private room with no other people in the room for the full duration of the exam.
The room must have solid walls and door (ie not glass) so no other individual can be seen other your yourself.

Also on that page you can go to link “View our room and desk setup requirements for remote session exams”

If by hall you mean it is open to a stairway or has turns in it so where it would be physically possible for someone to appear out of site of the proctor I am sure that will not be suitable. Perhaps if you are facing a wall and have walls to left and right so the only “space” is behind you (i.e. in view of the webcam throughout), you might be able to construct a screen behind you? Though I obviously can’t speak for a proctor whether they would permit.

Hello sir, do we click submit button or should we just wait for the timer to end itself?

    Thank you

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE everyone – download and READ the step-by-step guide – LINK under the video here https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/remote-session-exams/on-exam-day.html

    @Fleurswan
    – see point 20:

When the exam end time is reached, the exam will automatically end and a Proctor will close you exam window. Please do NOT end the exam before the exam end time is reach. If you do end the exam early, or leave your seat during the exam, you will be reported to ACCA for investigation which may result in your result being withheld.

    Dear Sir,

I had faced the following problem in my previous remote exam-

For example if I have typed a paragraph and now I want to change/add a word/line in between the para.
As soon as I started typing the additional word, it would not add that word but would replace the next (already typed and correct) letter.

Why would the cursor replace instead of just typing. It seemed like a bug. Please let me know if there is a way to avoid this because it was too time consuming and resulted in me panicking in exam.

That is something than happens when the “INS” (insert) key is activated – it overwrites rather than inserts (fix is to press INS again). You should practice in the CBE platform which has same functionality. You really should have contacted ACCA directly for authoritative guidance https://www.accaglobal.com/vn/en/footer-toolbar/contact-us.html

I can’t replicate real exam issues(!)

30 mins is the max a candidate is allowed to be late so it is likely that you will have to claim technical issues and be withdrawn from the exam (so you will be credited with the exam fee)

    https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/student/exam-entry-and-administration/computer-based-exams/remote-session-exams/on-exam-day/troubleshooting-guidance.html

I can only advise students to have the GUIDE to hand – which can be downloaded from this page: https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/help/remote.html#During-the-exam

How do I start my remote session exam?
For information on what you’ll need to do to start your exam read our how to launch your remote session CBE guide.

    Hello All,
Do you guys know if the word processor embedded in the remote examination tool automatically saves progress throughout?
I did not click on “end exam” and the window closed automatically when the time lapsed.
Do you know if all progresses made up to the end – including the latest changes – are automatically saved?
There is no saving button so I presume so.
    Thanks!

    Hi Kim,

I disabled the firewall on my computer. My computer is not corporate but I am paranoid so I still went ahead.

    Is this right or wrong?

I had this same problem. I was on the queue for more than 2 hours. Eventually, I was told that my session expired. I had to withdraw the exam. I called ACCA and they said I had to wait till September. The queue started with 566 persons around 4.50AM EDT and only got to my turn around 6:45AM EDT. I was asked to relaunch VUE. I was 1st in line but the Proctor never showed up for almost 1 hour, till I got an error and the session became invalid.

I waited for over an hour (started my exam 30 min earlier than scheduled just in case and I was right). I was 407 in queue (10:45 Central European Time). I managed to start the exam and so sorry for those who couldn’t! I was late for work because of this, though.

@chinedu123 – you would have to ask ACCA directly. The instructions refer specifically to corporate firewalls as these are likely to have more stringent security that may prevent the exam software and/or invigilation software from running.

I am in South Africa, I was supposed to start at 11:15 CAT I only started at 12:30 and then as I was busy with my last question my exam froze and had to be relaunched again I had to wait in line. But the worst part is that I ran out out time my exam was still counting down when it was frozen that time was not added back at least 5 minutes

If you see “Attempted” under the exam then it is submitted. I have a different issue in the last 30 second of the exam and exam closed automatically and I am also waiting for that “Attempted” to make sure my exam is submitted :-ss

Thank you for your comment Min. How are things in Czechia? I have been going on holiday with my very good friend from Prague every year for more than 10 years – but it will have been 2 1/2 years by the next time we are likely to have chance to do that again.
