Can someone please advise me on how well I need to know all the models listed in the syllabus i.e. do I just need a basic knowledge or must it be thorough. Also are all model models of equal importance?

You are rarely required to explain models, but you are expected to be able to apply them to scenarios, so concentrate on being able to do that.
A model is important if it comes up! Some ‘models’ are little more than lists – but still useful. My top dozen would be:
PESTEL
5 Forces
Generic strategies
Ms model for resources
Ansoff’s matrix
Strategy evaluation: suitability, acceptability, feasibility
Boston consulting group
6Is of e-business
Harmon’s process strategy matrix
4 or 7 Ps for marketing
Project initiation document contents and project gateways
Job design and motivationFeel free to include particular favourites.
