Remembering all the models

I'm not sure what you mean by a basic knowledge compared to a thorough knowledge. You are rarely required to explain models, but you are expected to be able to apply them to scenarios, so concentrate on being able to do that. A model is important if it comes up! Some 'models' are little more than lists - but still useful.
