Shares being pledged as collateral and a merger of 2 companies
Could these 2 be the reasons?Possibly, although it depends on the context of the question.
However if you are referring to a question in the recent exam then please do not expect me to comment more because I have not even seen the recent exam. (And there is no point in thinking about it now anyway because obviously nothing can be changed 🙂 )
