Just thought (having watched all the lectures and gone through the notes and written my own notes) i would look at a past exam paper (June 2013). I wrote my answer to the first question then looked at the answers online & OMG there is no way i will remember all that!! 🙁 I thought i had the basic concepts but other stuff they had there, with things in brackets (CPR Pt 27)? i dont even know what that means??? How does anyone manage to pass F4?
October 18, 2013 at 12:10 pm #143059Hi, look, don’t freak out. The answers online are model answers. There is no way one can reproduce that during the exam. Having said that, your answer should atleast cover the main points. Btw, I think you are just suffering from one of those panic attack phases we all have when prepping for a paper…so don’t worry, it will pass. And CPR is Civil Procedure Rules. How do I know that? Its mentioned in the answer 🙂 CPR is just an abbreviation of that…Q1(b) answer, first line.
Here is how I passed F4:
1. Used Kaplan book. Its ok if you are using BPP btw, they are both ACCA approved publishers. I went for Kaplan because BPP was a bit too bulky for my taste. Whatever you use, make sure you get a firm grip on the course content
2. I tried to support my answer by mentioning cases. Law is all about precedents, no? Hence cases are kinda important. I think there was a list of cases given at the back of the textbook (At least in Kaplan)….I quizzed myself on them. I randomly picked a case, and tried to recall what it was about. That was my approach, you can come up with something else if this doesnt feel right to you.
3. Do as many questions as possible. Generic bit of advice, certainly, but I can’t stress enough how important it is to be familiar with the questions.
To top it all off, read this article : https://opentuition.com/acca/f4/acca-paper-f4-exam-technique/
Hope this helps!
