I really struggle with the timing on P3 questions. Is it possible to pass P3 by completing question 1 and just one of the Section B questions? In theory getting two thirds of the marks available for these two questions should be enough to secure a 50% pass, but does anyone actually know someone who has passed this way?

I wouldn’t recommend trying to do this for the following reason-there are diminishing returns in terms of getting marks on each question. In other words the first few marks you obtain on each question should be the easiest.I would, however, consider taking what you believe to be your strongest question first, then your second strongest followed by your weakest.Even if you only obtain five or six marks on your weakest question, this could be the difference between passing and failing.

Thanks very much for your reply. I have heard this theory of diminishing returns before, but the problem I have is that I only complete 60-65% of the paper when I attempt three questions, but I can complete 75% of the paper if I just do two questions.

I have also heard that there is strong evidence to suggest candidates have a better chance of passing if they do Q1 first.

What makes you bring able to do 75% of the paper with 2 full questions but if you tried 3 questions, you are able to do only 60-65% of the question, just doesn’t make sense?
I rather give up the last few marks in question 1&2, because the first 10 marks in question 3 would be way easier to achieve in the same amount of time!
