Morning Mike,
Just wondering in your opinion is it too late now to start studying for the December sitting of the P7 exam. I passed P2 I June.
Thanks very much,
Mark
Ask the Tutor ACCA AAA
P7 December 2015
I am just starting to study for the P7 for Dec sitting but I sat it in Dec 2013 and failed by 1%
I am hoping its not too late to start as I only got my resit results on Monday this week.
Is it your first attempt at P7?
Sabrina
Mark - no - it's probably a good idea given that P2 is still so fresh in your mind. I would skip the study texts and get straight into the course notes with videos / recordings and then dive into a revision kit / exam kit from a reputable publisher.
And then read. Endlessly. Whenever you have 10 minutes to spare - read.
Questions and answers, just read them
Then, half way through November, start planning your own efforts to answer these questions that you've been reading
OK?
Hi Sabrina - no, it's not my first attempt. I've been trying for years
Was this a question aimed at me or at Mark?
Great, I will do that! Was worried I may have left it too late.
Thanks for they reply and also for your help with P1 and P3. Passed both first time :)
Hi Sabrina-Yes, this will be my first attempt. Best of luck in December.
You're welcome - keep in touch
Apologies Mike, My Q was aimed at Mark.
Best of Luck in Dec Mark.
Mike, would you advise the same of me regard studying for P7 again? Exam papers & Answers with Lecture notes etc etc
Thanks
Sabrina
Yes, and I've also just advised the same to a first time student - exam papers, course notes, lectures and practice
Hello MikeLittle
I was wondering do you teach P7 at any college or university?
Ive tried P7 three times but no luck yet! I am desperate to get it over with this December.
Hi Danny
No, sorry :-(
In fact, I haven't lived in the UK for more than 12 years now and have no intention of doing so again!
But read the advice that I give to other P7 students (Fred, recently) and see if that helps
And, of course, you're always welcome to post your questions on here and I'll get back to you
Hello Mike
I am attempting p6 and p7 in Dec 2015..
P6 is going along nicely but I have started P7 just now with course notes of OT. Another issue is that i am not done with p2 yet which means no understanding of IAS. Would it be possible for me to prepare for p7 in the upcoming 40 days ??
Going to be very difficult if you're not up to date with P2.
I said "difficult" not "impossible"
Have a read at a lot of questions and answers from past P7 exams and see what sort of questions you could expect - in fact (other than refreshing my knowledge about IAS / IFRS) that's probably the only preparation I could recommend - read, read and read
And then practice planning answers
Hi Mike,
Hope you are well. Just wanted to let you know I passed-62%. Thanks very much for your help and advice!! :)
Mark
Well done Mark - is that you finished now?
No, I still have one left to do - probably P4 in June though I'm not 100% sure which subject to choose.
Ok, well, good luck anyway and don't forget to tell your friends about opentuition. You're the best form of advertising that we have :-)
Hi Mike, I just received my P7 (INT) result for Dec15-40marks, it have been my forth attempt trying for this paper- previous score was 43,38,33. This is my last ACCA paper. I have been struggling for years taking P7, can you provide me with any exam tips for P7 Mar16 or any tips to pass this paper or do you think should I still continue to take this paper or should I change to another optional paper P4/P5. I'm a little lost....I need some help....
Hi Denise
I'm sorry to hear of your continuing struggles with P7 - I guess this is horses for courses because I never felt that I had a problem with the "written"papers whereas you clearly do.
I keep writing the same advice to students, particularly for P7 so I'm going to cheat a little bit and ask you to check this page (P7 Ask the Tutor) and go back a little way. You won't need to get too far back before you come to a similar post where a student has asked for advice and I've written a lengthy response
Please do that for me, find that response and then, if you want to talk more about it, post again
Thanks
