Hi everyone, i forgot to save the result feedback when result eas released, how can I access it now.
November 15, 2021 at 8:00 am #640664If you cannot access these and they were not sent to you by email or you no longer have the email, then you will have to contact the University at acca@brookes.ac.uk to request that they send you a copy. You will need to include your ACCA registration number and details of the Period you submitted in.
Remember to check junk mail as sometimes your email system may put the OBU email in the trash/junk folder thinking it is spam

May 8, 2022 at 3:07 pm #655200Helo! I just want to know if i can use a company for topic 5 that had always been performing well but faced a slight downturn due to covid but increased profits again the next year?
Like – their profits were 8 billion in 2019, 6 billion in 2020 and 8 billion again in 2021. Would this be alright? Or would my project be failed because this exceptional performance didn’t become evident in the last three years???
please help me out with this . This is for topic 5.
May 11, 2022 at 1:10 pm #655407For a good Topic 5 you need to show that board strategic decisions based on the company’s business environment has helped its exceptional performance [regardless of whatever may happened because of Covid 19].
As it says in the June 2021 Info Pack, a report that relies solely on Covid-19 will likely lack insufficient depth. Markers expect the financial analysis to be underpinned by the SWOT / PESTLE factors that prevailed during the 3 year period

May 14, 2022 at 3:34 pm #655644Hello Gillian, thank you for your response.
I do have one more question – how important is it to reference the graphs and tables in the report when all the figures have been taken directly from the excel spreadsheet?

June 9, 2022 at 2:43 pm #658113Hi Experts , For topic 5 I am struggling to find a company which has higher profit all three years . year e.g mostly companies have £10 profit in year 1 and £5m in year 2 and £6m in year 3 . But the topic requirement is a company should display exceptional performance all 3 years ?
Will its going to be acceptable?
Also Could you please suggest me few companies which have same growth all years ?

Thanks for providing this forum. Please where can I get the structure (E.g. Introduction, body, conclusion) for my rap. I am doing topic 8. Where do I bring in the pestle and swot analysis ?
September 26, 2022 at 12:56 pm #667221Sorry for the delay in answering. The University no longer issues exemplars for these so the short answer is there is no place you can get them but your mentor may be able to advise you what to put where.
The point about the PESTLE, SWOT etc is that they are what influence the strategic decisions so you need to set these out before the ratios as it would be expected that the trends are related to the consequences and success [or otherwise] of these decisions, so they two sections are linked as such. Do not make the mistake as many students in the past have made and think the models are isolated components and put them after the ratio analysis – this is not their purpose – they are there to guide and strengthen your evaluation.

October 31, 2022 at 5:46 pm #670425Hi hi Ms Gillian.
Many students are confused as to what makes up the word count.
Are the words on the graphs and charts in the financial analysis counted as part of th 7,500 words?
November 4, 2022 at 7:16 am #670632Apologies for the delay in responding – I have been busy helping my own students complete their work
The main issue with word count is when it is ‘abused’ – by this I mean students have pasted tables as images recognising that the word count system does not register words in these and think they will be ignored. The marker will then make a judgment call. The occasional use of such images will be ignored but if it is suspected that the student has deliberate tried to circumvent the rules then markers can come down hard.
So words in graphs and original charts will normally be ok but use of tables and other objects that could have been pasted as Word inclusions will be reviewed. I once had a student who used copious images and diagrams and therefore I insisted that he bring his word count down to below 7,000 to allow for them. I never heard from him until about 10 weeks after the results came out when he finally sent me his results email. In June having only just received it himself. Fortunately he had passed but I suspect the long delay was because a marker had flagged up all the images. As they were relevant and referenced and he had reduced down the word count to allow for the words in them and done an excellent RAP he finally got a well deserved A but it is a cautionary tale!
BTW there are some checks to do to save words – a dash like I have just used counts as a word and putting a gap between the p and the page number will record as 2 words whereas p.7 will be just one; also consider hyphens where appropriate up-to-date records as just one word as does short-term
Good luck to your students!
May 13, 2023 at 7:36 am #684269Hi there, I failed my RR P45, topic 15c (marketing) under “understanding and application of accountancy and business models” and have passed the rest. Can someone advice me other than this part, which part else that I need to revise and resubmit? Do I need to resubmit Appendix Excel and Word, PPT, Reference list, SLS?
May 15, 2023 at 4:40 pm #684400Hi all
Did anyone get the Diploma yet or received any information about the package details? I am wondering if I will receive a tracking number or something or it will just come by mail one day?
Thanks
May 22, 2023 at 4:32 pm #684829Hi Guys,
Could someone help me out and let me know when the FM exam for June 23 is?
Kind regards,
AllenJuly 13, 2023 at 1:35 pm #687932Hi,
Starting my RAP journey soon and haven’t decided whether 3 months is enough for a Rap submission that I haven’t begun AT ALL.
Btw, Can someone change the name of this to P47?
July 14, 2023 at 7:40 pm #687980My advice – get started asap as most students underestimate the amount of time required and to do a decent report that stands a good chance of passing is a 3 month task minimum and realistically probably a bit longer….
July 31, 2023 at 11:36 am #689184Hello, I have a query
So on submitting my reference list i submitted my unedited list by mistake and on it right I had some website references which did not have authors on it
For example in text on the RAP I would reference as (Yahoo, 2023)
On the unedited reference list I had used Microsoft reference generator and it generated something like this:
Dodge Closes Acquisition of Audi . Yahoo.com. Available at: https://www.yahoo.com/press-release/dodge.-2021-11-08 [Accessed 1 Jan. 2023].
Is this okay as I am having sleepless nights because of this ,

Hi, I have just started on my rap journey and decided to work on topic 13. The company I have chosen have faced multiple scandals of different types and magnitude over the last 5 years and I am confused whether I have to establish a relation between all the events or analyse them as individual factors.
Also I am not quite sure what is expected from this particular requirement ‘analyse and evaluate the reasons for the poor ethical business practices’ in the info pack for topic 13.
Please do help me out.August 13, 2023 at 7:11 pm #689858Well done on choosing Topic 13, which is a very interesting topic.
There has to have been some ‘event’ in the last 3 years: this might in addition be as a result of fines, a court trial or an investigation that may be connected to something that happened prior to that. There may or may not be, a connection (but usually you can attribute multiple failures) to weak governance and poor ethical behaviour by the board.
The important thing is to ‘evaluate’ when doing your analysis: this goes much further than just telling the reader what had happened – it is about considering the implications of what has happened and the broader consequences / significance of what has happened
August 14, 2023 at 5:49 pm #689903This isn’t neccesarily related to P47 but I submitted a project for P46 back in may.
Noticed my name appears once on the front page of RAP but no where else in any document. I understand my name should not be on the document at all – what will be the consequences of this?
