HI i seriously need an advice every time i score 43 42 45 etc i have good concepts i think iam facing problem in application how we can improve application and i also wants to know that for e.g if there is a 15 marks requirement so how many points we have to write and how long the point should be 2, 3 line ? and applying any model in a question do we have to define / explain it or we just start its application. thankss

I passed with 51 but I would advise you to write clearly – start a new line for each point and don’t bother describing models, just apply them
You seem to have an exam technique issue.
Do not overwrite for each point, just write the essential, move on and STRICTLY stick to your time.
I suggest that you take a stopwatch with you in the exam and make good use of it
thankss guyz wants to knw 1 more thing the marking scheme is 1 mark per relevant point so for 1 point how much we have to write a line or bullet point would be fine ? and if we explained the point in detail like the problem then its consequences and finally how to resolve it then it would be approx 3 to 4 lines so this would be marked more then 1 this approch is fine ? for a 2 or 3 marks . thankss
Sorry to hear about your continuing problems with P3.
If by ‘bullet point’ you mean one or two words, that is generally not acceptable. You have to fully explain any point you are making, usually be relating it to the scenario, so that will take a couple of sentences for each. If you do that, then generally there will be more than 1 mark per point.
@gromit ok thanks so you mean for a detailed point we would usually get more than 1 mark but sometimes we don’t get some points in our mind and we are unable to discuss in detail so in that case if we don’t know the consequences of the situation or how to resolve it and we just state the problem in a line will we get 1 mark at least. ?
@gromit what approach you should advice for P3 to study text with kit or just start doing kit ?
I think you should concentrate on the kit and make sure you read the student accountant articles. There are lots now and provide an alternative/welcome change to re-reading study texts.

If you KISS the paper you will Get through.
KISS = Keep it Short and Simply.
– Do not write too much also.. Marker wont get time to read everything.
– Leave Spaces between points.
– Make sure your 1 point is upto 2 to 3 sentences.
– Do not rote learn Professional Papers. (Rote learn = 10 % of marks in exam.)DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE ANSWERS IN THE REVISION KIT MUCH. THIS PAPER IS STRATEGY. IN YOUR REAL LIFE, YOU WONT HAVE BOOKS IN FRONT OF YOU TO MAKE DECISION. MAKE YOUR OWN STRATEGY (but sensible) AND WRITE THE ANSWER.

But, what you can learn from the revision kit and ACCA questions and answers is how they pick up the information in the question and run with that. Ie they make sense and make recommendations based on the facts in the scenario, but they use models to do that/help.
Models are better than starting with a blank sheet of paper: they give structure which help you to make sense of the facts in the scenario.
