Occupational Pension Scheme

An occupational scheme is simply one that is operated by the employer and may be either a defined benefit or a defined contribution - most pension schemes these days are defined contributions. This is not an issue to concern you - you simply need to know how to deal with contributions made into either the occupational scheme or a personal pension scheme.
