i received a mail a while ago that f4 is no longer used as proof of english proficiency if one is planning on undertaking this degree. what then should i do? i need clarification on that please. thank you
December 9, 2013 at 2:56 pm #151804Hi,
I was just reading through the BSc requirements, and it said that the minimum academic entry requirements for registering on the BSc degree are two A levels plus three GCSE’s in five separate subjects. Although I have this, I did my GCSE’s about 25 years ago (the first year they came out!), and I don’t have any record or proof of them. I don’t even remember who the examining body was. However, do Oxford Brookes ask for proof of GCSE’s and A levels, or is this something I needn’t worry about?
Thanks!

Bsc in applied accounting is specifically designed for ACCAs. If you have registered with ACCA in the last 10 years and you have completed F1-F9 with professional ethics module then you are eligible to undertake this program.
December 9, 2013 at 4:50 pm #151831Thanks, so from what you say, I can disregard that paragraph about GCSE’s, A levels? Thanks for clarifying that.

SulemanFebruary 11, 2014 at 11:57 am #158039I just wanna know if I am still eligible to do obu degree if i passed my f7 r and f9 before f4. I’m doing f4 for this sem and hopefully if i got through the paper. ..I planned to do obu after tht…but now I wanna be sure whether I’m still eligible or not…I have opt to obu even the time I register for acca. Need advise 🙂
February 11, 2014 at 4:06 pm #158153If you have opted in for the OBU degree and have successfully passed papers F4 to F9 (doesn’t matter in which order) then you can do you degree.
Hope this answers your query.
February 12, 2014 at 6:36 pm #158469I just got an email frm acca itself. ..saying tht if I have already passes my f7 _ f9 prior to f4, my obu eligibility will be withdrawn it seems. Sad.
February 14, 2014 at 5:27 pm #158773Really, i have same problem with u.
Do u ask acca for cancelling the result in f7 and u can sit f7 after f4 again?February 15, 2014 at 12:53 pm #158866as per the requirement u need to opt for obu after passing F4 and before sitting for any of f7,8,9 However u contact to ACCA to guide u in this regard.
Hope everything goes well !!February 17, 2014 at 9:18 pm #159165hi. Where do I check whether I am eligible for Oxford Brookes Degree? When I view my status report in myacca, it says “you have completed the ACCA exam component of OB” under Oxford Brookes Status. what does this mean? Thank you
February 18, 2014 at 7:08 am #159195But its clear, you have to pass F4 before passing F7, F8 and F9. In other words you pass F7,F8, or F9 before F4 then you are not eligible for this Degree.
Hope that helps.February 18, 2014 at 3:11 pm #159279Hi
This means that you are eligible for the OBU degree. Just to confirm, in order to start OBU degree, you need to have successfully passed the F4 – F9 papers and completed the ACCA Professional ethics module.
You can register on the OBU submission website as once you log in it will state reasons, if any, of your eligibility.

February 22, 2014 at 12:02 pm #159788I would like to inform all students who are thinking of undertaking the OBU degre that paper F4 will only be acceptable as a proof of English language proficiency till June 2014. After that ACCA will look only to the external qualifications.
This also means that the rule of sitting F4 after F7-F9 is no longer applicable after June 2014.
February 22, 2014 at 5:28 pm #159807Hi! I have a question…
I have passed with following papers in the following order.
June 2013:
F1: PASS
F2: PASS
F3: PASS
F4: PASSDecember 2013
F5: FAIL
F6: PASSIn June 2014 I plan to write the following exams:
– F5 and F8.In December 2013 I plan to write the following exams:
– F7 and F9As you see from June 2014 I would be writing the papers not in order. I did this because I found it stressful to write one exam after the next from December 2013.
Would this cause any problems when I decide to go ahead with the OBU Research Project?
February 22, 2014 at 6:00 pm #159809Hi dookhan12,
If you have opted in for the OBU degree (you do this via myacca) before taking the F7, F8 and F9, then you will be eligible to take the degree. It doesn’t matter in which order you sit the papers, as long as you complete F4 before F7-F9 papers, which you have.
Thanks
Anna

Hi Anna,
Thanks for the update. So is this for students who sit and pass Paper F4 after June 14 attempt in a CBE. Or does it apply retrospectively even to people who previously passed Paper based F4?
Thank you!
February 23, 2014 at 12:24 pm #159842Hi 5hr3wd. I am not sure I understand your question.
Student who pass F4 in the past and in June 2014 can claim this paper to be their proof of English proficiency in order to be eligible for the OBU degree. The student must pass F4 before F7-F9 paper. If not, the student won’t be eligble for OBU degree.
From December 2014, the students can only prove their English proficiency with external qualifications only. The condition is that they provide their language certificates to ACCA BEFORE PASSING F7-F9. If not, again, the student is no longer elibigle for OBU.
Hope this answers your query.
Thank you
Anna

Hi thanks for your reply.
I think the first part of your reply answers my question.
So to confirm you mean people like me who have passed F4 in the past and are currently eligible for bsc programme don’t need to worry about this change.
Thank you so much for your replies.
Regards
February 23, 2014 at 1:27 pm #159849that’s right. the new change won’t affect the students who already completed F4 and are eligible for OBU degree.
February 23, 2014 at 1:48 pm #159857Hello Anna
I attempted 3 papers in December 2013. This is my first paper based exam. And i passed F5 and F6, but failed on F4. I have few questions.1. The thing make me curious is other students who i known also didn’t pass the F4 and didn’t submit the english language qualification, but they are opted into the OBU degree partnership. We all from one tuition, suddenly only two of us are not opted into the partnership and it make me so uncomfortable. Is this the program error or what?
2. What If i attempt 4 papers this June which are F4,F7,F8 and F9, then pass on F4 and others. Is it make me eligible to opt in OBU partnership?
