Hi, I was just reading through the BSc requirements, and it said that the minimum academic entry requirements for registering on the BSc degree are two A levels plus three GCSE's in five separate subjects. Although I have this, I did my GCSE's about 25 years ago (the first year they came out!), and I don't have any record or proof of them. I don't even remember who the examining body was. However, do Oxford Brookes ask for proof of GCSE's and A levels, or is this something I needn't worry about? Thanks!

Bsc in applied accounting is specifically designed for ACCAs. If you have registered with ACCA in the last 10 years and you have completed F1-F9 with professional ethics module then you are eligible to undertake this program.

Thanks, so from what you say, I can disregard that paragraph about GCSE's, A levels? Thanks for clarifying that.

I just wanna know if I am still eligible to do obu degree if i passed my f7 r and f9 before f4. I'm doing f4 for this sem and hopefully if i got through the paper. ..I planned to do obu after tht...but now I wanna be sure whether I'm still eligible or not...I have opt to obu even the time I register for acca. Need advise :)

If you have opted in for the OBU degree and have successfully passed papers F4 to F9 (doesn't matter in which order) then you can do you degree. Hope this answers your query.

I just got an email frm acca itself. ..saying tht if I have already passes my f7 _ f9 prior to f4, my obu eligibility will be withdrawn it seems. Sad.

Really, i have same problem with u. Do u ask acca for cancelling the result in f7 and u can sit f7 after f4 again?
Aaishaasad12y ago#13
as per the requirement u need to opt for obu after passing F4 and before sitting for any of f7,8,9 However u contact to ACCA to guide u in this regard. Hope everything goes well !!

hi. Where do I check whether I am eligible for Oxford Brookes Degree? When I view my status report in myacca, it says "you have completed the ACCA exam component of OB" under Oxford Brookes Status. what does this mean? Thank you
Bbeyagala12y ago#15
But its clear, you have to pass F4 before passing F7, F8 and F9. In other words you pass F7,F8, or F9 before F4 then you are not eligible for this Degree. Hope that helps.

Hi! I have a question... I have passed with following papers in the following order. June 2013: F1: PASS F2: PASS F3: PASS F4: PASS December 2013 F5: FAIL F6: PASS In June 2014 I plan to write the following exams: - F5 and F8. In December 2013 I plan to write the following exams: - F7 and F9 As you see from June 2014 I would be writing the papers not in order. I did this because I found it stressful to write one exam after the next from December 2013. Would this cause any problems when I decide to go ahead with the OBU Research Project?

Hi Anna, Thanks for the update. So is this for students who sit and pass Paper F4 after June 14 attempt in a CBE. Or does it apply retrospectively even to people who previously passed Paper based F4? Thank you!
Former userFormer user12y ago#21
Hi thanks for your reply. I think the first part of your reply answers my question. So to confirm you mean people like me who have passed F4 in the past and are currently eligible for bsc programme don't need to worry about this change. Thank you so much for your replies. Regards

Hello Anna I attempted 3 papers in December 2013. This is my first paper based exam. And i passed F5 and F6, but failed on F4. I have few questions. 1. The thing make me curious is other students who i known also didn't pass the F4 and didn't submit the english language qualification, but they are opted into the OBU degree partnership. We all from one tuition, suddenly only two of us are not opted into the partnership and it make me so uncomfortable. Is this the program error or what? 2. What If i attempt 4 papers this June which are F4,F7,F8 and F9, then pass on F4 and others. Is it make me eligible to opt in OBU partnership?

I want to ask Anna a question. Is F4 becoming CBE from December 2014, or is it available for students after June 2014 exams. Thanks.
Pp162712y ago#29
So after June 2014 will I be able to do obu since f4 doesn't hold as the proof for English assessment ? As I can use my o level GSE English results...

@brashizo - in my article about eligibility I was citing from the current Information Pack (2013/2014): "Providing you complete Paper F4, then this will be acceptable. Oxford Brookes University deems Paper F4 as proof of English proficiency therefore you should complete this exam and opt in with ACCA before passing Papers F7-F9" If you have received an email from OBU to the contrary then obviously the Info Pack needs to be updated to reflect this. Perhaps you could contact the Admin Office at OBU for direct clarification on this matter? I can then correct the information I present to students. However if your English is proficient then there is generally no problem. Although the RAP submitted to OBU, as a British university, is marked by native English speakers, they do not expect perfect English as they appreciate that as a worldwide body, ACCA students do not all have the benefit of having English as their mother tongue. However the RAP has to communicate information effectively and occasionally there can be failures on the grounds of "Communication", one of the assessment criteria under Graduate Skills. This is applied as following: "Meaning often unclear" and / or "Grammar and / or spelling contain frequent errors" and if significantly evident, will be construed as non-competent whereas "Language mostly fluent" and "Grammar and spelling mainly accurate" will be assessed as competent. In my experience the markers usually only fail on Communication if they really have to struggle to understand the concepts of what is being presented and overall they feel that the RAP lacks coherency to the point that they really do not understand much of what the student has written. Note: I have changed the Forum title you started to one with a more suitable title
