    Good day tutor,

Will we be given marks if logical points that were not covered in the scenario are made?

Say…if we were asked to analyse the external environment for a charity and nothing has been said on any legislation the charity has to comply with, could we say,
“As a charity, XX is subject to legal requirements surrounding activities and behaviour of the charity and the trustees……”?

    Thank you.

I think that would be fine because knowing a little about the responsibilities of charities and their governance should be known eg different stakeholders to those of a commercial company.

However, in ganeral, don’t go into specifics that are not in the scenario. For example, if you know a lot about the airline business don’t start talking about the efficiencies of different aircraft if not told that in the question. It will confuse the marker.. However it might be reasonable to mention that the price of fuel is an important economic influence.

Also, you might know that the £/$ exchange rate has weakened over the last year but you do not have to mention that real-time fact. If the exchange rates are not given in the question keep comments more generic eg the company’s exports will be more competetive if the exchange rate falls.
