hi ,
i am new to cima and have passed three exams in certificate level doing on my own .
i am going to start business in a year or so and hoping to complete management level before i start business .my query is that will cima qualification will help me in understanding , operating business or shall i go for MBA after management level or completing CIMA .
your advices will be much appreciated , thanks

Almost 5 months and no reply from anyone , anyways i have passed cima certificate and started operational level by E1 here i want to ask for help from admin :Are these notes and videos are updated to sit exams for operational level in 2017
By studying these will i be able to pass the exams , offcourse i will be looking for revision and exam kits from othr resources aswell .
And also kindly give me some advice on mba after cima …

I’m a cima tutor here at Open Tuition and can confirm that the notes are suitable for the 2017 exams. The current syllabus has not changed so there is no update necessary.
In terms of CIMA helping you with your own business. Its certainly one of the best qualifications available for business. The case study exams particularly help you to think strategically and use all of your skills to analyse business problems and to make effective decisions. However, if you should wish to take an MBA after CIMA- then you will hopefully find you are entitled to some exemptions due to subject crossovers.

How’s your preparation of E1 going. I am also enrolled in E1 if you like we can work together for preparation of exams.

Thanks for your advice , yes i already searched on online MBA and lots of UK universities are offering but the thing with me is that i want to do it from a highly respected institute .
University Of London and Oxford brookes were which i really liked ..
Well its still a long way , because i want to complete CIMA first as i dont have degree .
Its really nice to have a study buddy from Australia , i am in KSA (Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia )
I am going slowly on E1 just started using opentuition lecture notes and videos , will be happy to work together

Yes i am working . I am working with a person who wants to open a supermarket , it is still in starting pahse at the moment just looking for equipments and asking for qoutations .At the moment i am in office .

I work from 8am to 3pm . The timings will be changed as soon Market gets started .
I dont know in which state of Australia you are but when i ll get free it will be early morning in your part of world .
As you told you are working as a senior accountant so it will be helpful for me to gain knowledge and experience too.
Have you done degree or any other Professional Qualification .

I am also from Pakistan Karachi. I have done BCom. BSc Hons in computing and Information systems UK. Done 11 units of MBA but was not able to finish it as I migrated to Sydney. Exempted from CIMA Accounting Certificate got direct admission in Operational level. Thats a brief of my academics.
What about your qualifiactions?

I just read your message. So it seem you don’t have a degree its ok brother. I was just asking so that I know your complete academic details so you have completed certificate its a good achievement keep it up.

yes i dont have a degree . I did Fsc Pre engineering , and went to UK for ACCA did 4 exams of fundamentals level , but due to College License revoked I lost quite a few time and tried to get in other institutes but very strict immigration laws and some personal issues made me come back to KSA . So i decided to do CIMA because it is more towards Management , so i have done my certificate level on my own .
Yes thats fine Friday is fine … well which study material are you using ..I am doing from opentuition at the moment

Thanks for the info. Currently I am using Opentution which I think is ok but not enough to pass the exam its good for just getting initial summary. I finished E1 first chapter although I have not listened to the lecture but I think its same as notes.
Second study material I am using is Kaplan study text for E1 its good if you can buy it I think it will help you passing exam. Everything is well explained and have practice exercises at the end of the chapter.
Last but not least I will go through Astranti material as well their notes are free to read online but they charge for their exam preparation material its also a good idea to get their free membership for now.
Finally for revision I think we can get Kaplan examination kit or bpp.
