    Hello

    The question says:
    (a) Analyses the current issues in the remaining four departments under consideration (inbound logistics and procurement, production, outbound logistics, marketing and sales), with appropriate reference to each department’s role in the value chain. Appendix 1 Figure One is representative of the approach required.

    My query:
When i answered this question, regarding the production department, i mentioned that having one machine and one production line is an issue.
ACCA’s answer mentioned the production times, set up and set down times. While i agree with ACCA’s answer , i would like to know if my answer is incorrect.

It is fine to mention that the one machine and one production line could be an issue.Eg restricts flexibility.

    Hello
In the answer for 1B, i do not understand the machine utilization which consists of set up, production , set down. …why would the machine be set up 2 to 3 times a day? The answer does not give a combination for both types of windows being produced.

Those are the only patterns that can be fitted in because the machine is restricted to a 9 hour working day.
