Second attempt and second failure. Does anyone experiencing problems with speed of typing? I had a long break in studies and now I do understand that I need to attend typing course. Otherwise I won’t be able to pass any of ACCA exam. On my work I don’t need to write long reports. I have 12 years of work as auditor and accountant. I didn’t have any problems on my work with typing. But ACCA want me to be not only an accountant but a typist as well…
April 17, 2023 at 7:33 pm #683061I thank God Almighty. I had a narrow passed of 50% at 2nd attempt.
April 17, 2023 at 8:24 pm #683063@amos, you are not a failure! Do not think or ever see yourself that way. Things like this happen in life. It’s a phase and will definitely pass if you do not give up. I know some one who failed every of the 14 papers at least 3/4 times and some even 5 times but she is now qualified. You must be an amazing dad as your child believes. This does not in any way define you.. don’t give up! You can take a few months off but do not give up…
April 17, 2023 at 9:14 pm #683071Well done and congratulations to all who passed. This is my 2nd sitting of SBR and failed with 46%. Taking the exam again in June and my main focus is on timed questions and mocks till the exam because I know this is my weakness. I have SBR and AAA to finish, I work full time, mother, wife and not about to give up. It is disheartening to fail especially when we put in as much time as everyone else but please DO NOT give up, you didn’t come this far to give up.
April 18, 2023 at 8:26 am #683095I got 49 this is my 2 nd attempt. 1st attempt with 48 marks. I did my best this time. I don’t know where I went wrong. Is there a chance of passing with 1 mark if I appeal for administrative review.
April 18, 2023 at 10:48 am #683122I take notes by watching OT lectures, learn and understand those notes and do the entire BPP book and the mock tests. I mark the questions I got wrong and do them again.
I also check through OT flashcards and revision lectures. If you do all these you should be ready for your exam.
Hope this helps 🙂April 18, 2023 at 11:12 pm #68316484% Alhamdulilah
April 19, 2023 at 2:33 am #683170Congrats to all who passed. I agreed with the typing part. Let us be realistic, in real life there is spell check and who types so much these days? I don’t.
Anyhow, I do hope I am successful in June since this would be my first SBR attempt. Cannot afford to give up now too close to the end.
Congrats to all again and for those who were not successful, do not give up.
April 19, 2023 at 4:26 pm #683216i would like to encourage to to give up. register and sit again in June focus more on question practice and knowledge on all the standards. you will make it
April 19, 2023 at 4:27 pm #683217passed with 50%
April 20, 2023 at 1:39 am #683235I got 80% in my first attempt. This is my first paper for ACCA as 9 papers have been exempted by my degree. I was unexpectedly calm when I finally get to know the results, but seriously, my dad cried when he know that I got 80% even though I’m doing it part-time together with my degree. I’m so blessed. Now I’m working on SBL for June 2023 sitting and my degree year 3 semester 2. My accounting degree is a four year program, hopefully I can be an ACCA affiliate by the time I graduated. Cheers and congrats all.
April 20, 2023 at 11:08 am #683254Does anyone have any tips for learning and revising this exam? Any tips? What is a big MUST do for passing this exam? Thanks everyone!
April 20, 2023 at 12:38 pm #683257@robyntopenn Go over the lectures of OT as quick as you can, jotting down your own notes, then go straight to past papers/mock exam questions and learning the standards.
If you can’t do the questions, just go to the answers and type them out. This will help you learn to write how examiners want you to answer.
I passed first time with 1.5 months of studying (while working) after a 6 year break of no exams and this was my approach.
Also, in the exam make sure you answer every question (keep to your timings!) even if you think you have no idea what its on about just write any standards and how you think the Q relates to it. Do this and you’ll be fine.
April 23, 2023 at 1:23 pm #683393Take a one week rest, forget about it and do a remontada like Real Madrid and Benzima did every time….
Do not loose hope ALLAH (SWT) is always there to help
Learn from your mistakes
Get back again on track and do only 5 full past exams, learn them by heart, practice them again and again gradually under exam and time conditions, learn from your detailed mistakes every time. Then move on to new exam questions
I am sure by the will of God that you will pass next time.
One week before you go for your exams, try to remember those 5 past exam Qs, 1 day before your exam, try to remeber your mistakes without touching any exam
Apply the same technique for the rest of ACCA Exams
Do SBR again for yourself
All the best
