General ACCAMARCH 2020 RESULTS COUNTDOWN

AAbdullahi6y ago
Hello and Welcome all It has been difficulty time with Covid19 for all of us, some more than others, and it doesn't show any sign of slowing down soon. I hope you are all in good health and managing the situation. Onto ACCA I am first time finalist , awaiting SBL result and to say I am nervous would be such understatement. It feels like a year ago since I did sbl on march 3 2020 and we are still in the same month. And the lockdown made things even slower . I don't know what to expect from the SBL exam. The exam was so general that you cannot relate to any syllabus or text and my answers were just common sense. No models and no structure, just my own rambling. I did attempt all questions though with the best I could offer so there is hope. Bring your experiences guys . Where are the veteran finalists? I remember a guy called chalbuala or Nasi something like that that attempted APM10 times and failed every single time. He passed December last year on 11th attempt.the persistent to overcome such adversity was inspirational and I was so happy for him to finally to put it aside. Share your thoughts

I sat my SBR exam in the excel in London, my first time there, as ACCA had closed a load of exam centers. Hard to believe within 2 weeks it was being turned into the nightingale hospital

SSadhana6y ago#192

AAeron6y ago#193
Does the result come exactly at midnight ? For me in Nepal it comes like an hour or more late
CCiara6y ago#194

AAeron6y ago#195

Same, it takes about 10 minutes, except my timing is 02:00 - 02:10
AAeron6y ago#198
Well I guess it isn't as sharp as they say I guess
CCiara6y ago#199
I know that our clocks going back an hour confused an awful lot of people for the previous results. Due to the timings. It only affects the dec results They have now reverted to British summer time and are therefore an hour ahead of what they were for the previous results

Like daylights saving time ?
CCathal6y ago#201
Just over 90 mins to go guys :/ Awaiting APM as many are I can see. Worried that CBE could have caught me with poor spelling and editing typing in such a rush without spellcheckers etc, but otherwise hopeful. Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Thank you ciara

Good luck everyone.
AAeron6y ago#205
Is APM as hard as people say?, is it harder than AFM ?
CCathal6y ago#206
@aeronstone it has a slightly worse pass rate.. only v slightly AFM may be easier to pass in the sense that much of it is "right or wrong" - if you know the calculations, you get the marks. c. 50% of the AFM exam is typically calculations. What's more, the narrative/qualitiative 50% is typically related to the calculations or similar and is again more "right or wrong" or "true or false" in nature APM meanwhile is more high-level and wide-ranging. Similar to SBL. Some will breeze it with little study, others will fail it many times with all the study in the world, which shouldn't be the case for AFM. If you were good at F9/FM you'll probably find AFM easier than APM. If FM was a nightmare, APM may be better.
JJennie6y ago#207
It's definitely harder than ATX....
AAeron6y ago#208
Thank you very much Cathal
JJennie6y ago#209
