I would just like to help anyone wishing to use LSBF as part of their CFA program. I purchased the “first time pass guarantee” as I thought that if I had an unsuccessful attempt I would still have access to the material as well as have my second attempt paid for. I paid the highest premium for this and I completed all the units and watched every video. I am now in the position to give the exam another attempt so I made the mistake of contacting LSBF. I then received a reply with a link to their extensive of terms and conditions in which I did not meet the requirements set out. My company is paying for my rewrite and all I wanted was access to the materials but they way their system of replying works is the assistant on the other end decides if he/she thinks your query is resolved and makes the status as closed. This means that according to their system all is okay – meanwhile I have not received any sort of comfort nor did they even lift a finger to try and help an existing customer of the highest purchase possible. Yes I may have not met there extensive terms and conditions, but I was not even asking for them to pay my exam. I literally just wanted access to the materials again so I could study the curriculum. As I mentioned, they did absolutely nothing in their power to try accommodate my request, they closed the status of my request with a link to the terms and pretty much said “sorry and cheers, if you want the material then pay again”. As a company claiming to assists students I found this very disappointing. In this day and age with companies and options all over the Internet, most organizations are willing to accommodate requests, especially if they are not even costing the company money. As a very dissatisfied customer, I will be taking my business to one of the other hundreds of options I have at my disposal who are more willing to accommodate my requests. Not reccommeded for anyone who doesn’t comply 100% with the terms and conditions and if you are looking for accomodating support, this is definitely not the institution for you. I can list 10 off the top of my head. I still have 3 exams to go. You would think in such a competitive market in a business school they would apply some business principles. A huge pity, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Good luck to all the candidates!

I am afraid this is a hard lesson to learn as ALL tuition providers that make you pay for courses will impose strict rules for you.
These ‘pass guarantees’ are not easily achieved, if they were most of the tuition providers would lose money and as a profit making organisation they will not want to do that.
This rant not only applies to LSBF but to Kaplan and BBP also.
You do have my sympathy, but maybe you could try the Open Tuition lectures? They are free so give excellent value for money and the lecturers are first class.
Buy yourself a new revision book and start studying for your retake.
Good luck! 🙂 - AuthorPosts
