Hello,
I was under the impression that it would be quite unlikely that we’d have to prepare a consolidated financial statement (as in the old P2 exams or the FR exam). But then I heard that it is still a core assessment area.
I know we still need the knowledge of consolidation and relevant standards, but I just wanted to ask if we should spend significant time practising consolidation?
Hi,
Yes, consolidation is still hugely relevant but you won’t have to prepare the full set of accounts. You are now only expected to prepare extracts.
Thanks
