    Hi,

    Could u pls advise me tge answer for the below question:

    The times taken to produce each of the first four batches of a new product were as follows:

    Batch number Time taken
    1 100 minutes
    2 70 minutes
    3 62 minutes
    4 57 minutes

    Based on the above data, the rate of learning was closest to

    A. 70%
    B. 72.25%
    C. 82%
    D. 85%

    From my calculation, the answer I get is 75%

    y = ax’2

    0.95 = 1.67 x 4’b

    Thank you

    Why are you attempting questions for which you do not have an answer? You should be attempting questions using a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers.

    The average time per batch when they produce 4 batches is (100+70+62+57)/4 = 72.25 minutes.

    Making 4 batches involves doubling twice.

    Therefore the learning rate = square root of (72.25/100) = 0.85 (or 85%).

    I do suggest that you watch my free lectures on learning curves. The lectures are a complete free course for Paper PM and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
