    F5 mock questions

Which of the following are usually elements of a JIT system?
    (i) Machine cells
(ii) Inventory only held at the bottleneck resource
(iii) Close relationship with major suppliers
    (iv) Multi-skilled labour
A (i), (ii) and (iii) only
B (i), (iii) and (iv) only
    C (i) and (iii) only
    D All of the above

    What’s the correct answer?
As far I am concerned, close relations with supplier is needed and also multi skilled workers in order to deliver goods on time.
What about others two options? I have no idea as neither bpp or kaplan covers this topic in detail.

Why are you attempting questions for which you do not have an answer? You should be using a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA Approved Publishers.

The answer is A. Machine cells provide flexibility.

No, you are wrong. The answer is B. I checked the answers. And I am asking you because I don’t understand the explanation. It’s very brief. It just states these are the features of JIT system. And it’s a part of syllabus and revision kit doesn’t even have a single question on it. Why shouldn’t I attempt mock questions huh?

It is indeed B. I meant to type (i) and not A as an answer to your question.

(iii) and (iv) are correct as you stated in your post. (i) is correct as I stated in my reply.

(ii) is not correct because from your studies of throughput accounting you will know that ideally there is no inventory held.

I don’t know who told you not to attempt mock questions – it wasn’t me. What I asked was why you were attempting questions for which you did not have an answer (I assumed that you are asking me because you did not have the answer!!).

I do not write the revision kits and so I cannot say why they don’t have certain questions.
