Are human resources considered as an asset?
In definition of Hr it can be..However, as of July 2, 2010 you cannot quantify human resources in the Statement of Financial Positions as per accounting standards or accounting concepts. However, there is great debate about quantifying human resources from the service industry… Hope it helps
As 1mtiaz says, they are in real life, but not in financial terms.
The only exception I can think of is they would (likely) be a part of a company’s goodwill if someone were to buy the company.
Alternatively – you have no complete control over them, they can quit at any time, or die? They could not come into work etc. Therefore you can’t recognise them as don’t control them enough.
