So I know that remembering the standard name and number isn’t necessary but even if we don’t write the name and number .. how to refer to a standard?
E.G if there is a misstatement related to the impairment…
Can we write.. according to the ‘relevant standard’ impairment is to be tested annually…
or do we have to write according to the ‘impairment standard’ impairment is to be tested annually
Either – but alternatively neither – you can explicitly say something like “management/the directors should have tested the asset …” (i.e. you don’t need to state any authority) or you can imply it “obtain management’s schedule/workings/calculations of its annual impairment test(s) …”
