Hi! Can anyone suggest how many study hours should allocated for studying paper P4. Just at the stage of considering if can take some other papers for Dec 13 exam. Consider that my F9 knowledge is zero because I got that exempted, and last time I did financial management was many years ago. So, plz, any advise would be helpful. Thansk.

I just sat P4 in June. From the feedback, i think perhaps the paper was a bit of a stinker, as compared to any other exam I have sat in ACCA it was horrendous with regards to how much is expected to be completed in the time allocated.
I self studied from January to June, I easily did more than 100 hours, felt very comfortable with the knowledge, more so than other papers I have sat and passed, and still wasnt prepared, obviously we have not had results yet, but I can put money on the result
I think you need to be in a position where, without thinking, you can relay the answer required immediately, I think thats the only way you can pass that exam. It might be worth reading a bit about the other papers etc.. before deciding to sit it, if yhou are adament, I would start studying now, especially as you didnt do F9
Just to add, I did 100 hours, but I work full time in a fairly senior role, and have a family at home, so time outside of work hours is a premium for me, hence you may be in a better position to manage the study required

When comes to the final stage of ACCA, I do think its also important to improve the efficiency of time spend on study. Sometimes I found myself is lack of discipline and easy to be distracted, and I am not very confident about the result for P2 which I sat in Jun. 🙁
But anyway, better to start study now and allow myself have enough time to go through study phases and drupm into the revision. Thanks - AuthorPosts
