    Hi,

    How would a gain of bargain purchase be treated in group accounts?

    I assume it will be added in the consolidated SOPL and added in the Parent’s retained earnings as well?

    Hi,

    Yes, a gain on bargain purchase is taken as a credit entry through profit or loss (parent’s column) and then through the group retained earnings.
