FM*** F9 December 2014 Exam was.. Instant Poll and comments ***
What do you think about new exam format of F9? Pleae share your ideas and what have you all done with F9 this term.
The new format is simpler, due to the questions being shorter. I like it better this way, although the MCQ part can be tricky
Thought the MCQ were extremely tricky. Not a fan! X
Me too, I expected the MCQ part to be easier, I was quite uncertain with several questions, especially the type "which statement is true...". Apart from that the format is good, I prefer the shorter questions in part B.
How was the exam overall? Easy, moderate or difficult? And which parts of the paper were more tricky?
It was a fair paper though MCQ'S were tricky especially theoretical MCQ'S. I got many "C" in my answer, did anyone get? Hope for 50, fingers crossed.
part B is ok, but MCQ is pure devil
addy I got many C as well ;)
Can you guys share the MCQ answer for those you all still remember!
I got plenty of A answeres in mcqs
Question 2 part B was to calculate the share price using the PE ratio.
I thought the paper was ok but the multiple choice was extremely difficult. I studied quite hard and I thought they were very tough. I just started blankly at some of the questions thinking HUH?!
I think it was about using P/E ratio to calculate the market value of shares?
Whats the answer for the npv??? Quedtion 4
Question 4 the two revision is means for?
Agreed, too many yields and just a few topics on the working capital management.
i got plenty of As !!
Mcqs were a nightmare !!!!!
most of 'em werent even in the test book
NPV i got 2510 positive ?
Can someone tell me did we have to do two waccs for question 5? I only did one .... friend said two? I got 10.4%
I got 3million something ....
Market value and book value WACC! Book value seem like 7.8%.
Your npv is 2510000?
Yes correct i got npv 2510
oh i didnt do book value wacc i didnt read question properly nooooo!!! It was easy too.
Hi vipulv yes I got 10.4 for the WACC then they asked for WACC for assets. I don't think I did this part correctly.
I will lose alot of marks
The exam was difficult. Hope to pass
For the book value :(
@jeanmusc said: I got 3million something ....3 mill?? Serious
If ACCA were aiming to encourage better coverage of the syllabus on the F9 I think they've missed the mark. The exam was heavily weighted on risk and valuation with very little investment appraisal, working capital management or ratios relating to a business performance. The MCQ's were obscure to say the least!
@vipulv , do you remember what your answer for MCQ " earn abnormal return by reading previously share prices." ?
That is what I remember:
Q1 Working Capital – 10m
Cash Budget 5m
Quick ratio – 2 m
Invest cash surplus – 3m
Q2 Business valuation – 10m
Convertable – 5m
P/E ratio share price – 5m
Q3 – risks – 10m
Fwd market hedge
Interest rate calc
???
Q4 Investment appraisal – 15m
NPV calc -
Two revisions –
Q5 – WACC – 15m –
WACC market value & book value – 9m
Rights issue to raise finance – 6m
McQ was hard and had questions in there, wasn't even from the syllabus..at least 3 mcqs..the part b was ok, still overall a tough paper compare to previous papers
