i remember when somenone posted a coment asking when wa the last time that a question came in CPV. i joked and said it will come this year. that joke has come to hunt me. anyway the exam was fair but for question 2. i wish ACCA could remove question 2 n mark the remaining 4 on 80.
anyway i ve myself to blame bcos i didnt prepare well. but ACCA should be setting questions that you have to spend time to reason what to do . TIme has always been the problem with these exams

What did they mean by a constant mix?
Former userFormer user13y ago#94
didn't expect those type of questions...

It was my first ACCA exam, and i did stupidity i rad all the answer will be written in BLACK pen and in hurry i started answering in BLUE pen....is it ok? or i have to re sit?

In Q 5 we had to add margin of retail division on sales? It was like 45%.

I guess it means that the mix remained constant that is the amount of material used remained same.
Sseagoat13y ago#98
The constant mix of sales is the fundamental assumption in CVP analysis. In other words it means u are selling products in fixed proportions for instance for every 1 sold A u sell 2 B and 5 C (1:2:5) this mix remains constant.

I thought I did good and it seemed fairly easy to me, However, I was shattered from studying all night and worrying about F9 so I don't think I thought at all during the paper! It was like my body answered everything automatically!

Anyway F9 is the killer for me and I've not even started F4! Everyone should stop worrying, even if you think you did rubbish you may still pass. Good luck to all.

So how do we draw the graph of contant mix?? :S
Former userFormer user13y ago#101
@ Sir john moffat, pls let me know is there any chance that examiner check my exam which i mistakely wrote with BLUE pen instead of BLACK b'cuz in hurry i started written with BLUE as i was my 1st ACCA exam n i did big mistake :(
Former userFormer user13y ago#102
@ayeshahabib, nice question, this assumption made me think less :)
Sseagoat13y ago#103
@mustafaraza, Try posting a question on "Ask the Tutor" :), or just contact ACCA. Wish u all the best !
John MoffatJohn MoffatTutor13y ago#104
@mustafaraza. I don't think there will be a problem. The reason that they insist on black ink is that the answers are scanned and sent to the markers electronically. Black scans better. (There is no point in writing to the ACCA - it will have been scanned and sent.)

Can anyone help me here. I stupidly didnt shade/tick the box on the fron cover of the answer booklet. I did answer all the question (in order) and shaded the question attempted at the top of each page...just didnt tick the questions attempted on the fron cover.

Will this affect my mark?????

I also did d same thing....
Sseagoat13y ago#107
It will not, do not worry.
Former userFormer user13y ago#108
Can anyone help me too please?
I did shade the questions numbers (the circles) at the top of each page, but i didn't actually write the question numbers if that makes sence. I just shaded the relevant circle and then started answering the questions and just put only a), b) etc.
Is this a problem?

Hi guys!

I atempted 4.5 questions out of five. I tried to take maximum from question 1, 2, 3 and 5. However did not have time finish question 4.

There is a small issue I'm worried about. test administrators did not distribute graph papers at the test. So i drew my volume-profit graph directly in my answer sheet along with my calculations and text answers. I talked to a friend of mine who had also attempted f5. He said that later during the test he asked administrator to give him a graph paper, and they did give.

Should I have asked for graph paper during the test? Will my graph be marked if it is drawn inside the answer sheet?

Thank you very much!

CVP Analysis & Rolling Budgets with Bonus scheme was totally unusual nd beside tht accordin to me 2 Question of full flash theory was abit too much in given time allotted :)
Ppringo13y ago#111
@ azatkup:
The amounts to be plotted were not easy without a graph paper so the administrator should have absolutely asked who needed one, at least this is what happened in the class I gave the exam. ( it was clearly stated "In the graph paper provided to you")

I think you will get more marks for the effort you put for drawing the graph in the answer sheet ?
Former userFormer user13y ago#112
@oltago:
Thank you! I hope at least I won't lose any marks.
Eeljona13y ago#113
Did anyone prepared a flexed budget for Desingit??? I dont remember having read that type of question?
Ffurqan299413y ago#114
questions were easy but time was short for such a long paper....variances ruined my paper though i have been practicing variances a lot but due to pressure i was unable to work out std labour rate per hour ......i solved abc& transfer and hope to get best marks in that question....cvp was easy one.....per.measurement was ok....but variances that question was difficult especially when u have short time u cant solve that sort of question
Ffurqan299413y ago#115
have a question plz answer

labour rate planning variance (11.4-12)*.6*20000
anwer comes accurate if u do as above
but i have in kaplan book as well as in BPP that the best approach is to flex to actual pro levels and that was 20500 in the question....whats the right method?
Ffaisal9913y ago#116
i want 2 know that rolling budget with bonus scheme is it actually on da syllabus? or they just made a random question

Very Hard exam :(
Former userFormer user13y ago#118
It was ok actually. Try comparing it with June 2012 paper! That was hard!
Ccelticking7613y ago#119
I thought that the exam was quite reasonable, I was expecting Trees, Throughput or Linear programming and environmental accounting, and none of that came up. I was quite pushed for time but managed to answer all the questions.
Cchiclarence13y ago#120
decision trees; throughput and linear programing will come in june: so lets start preparing for it now
