I am looking to do this exam in September 2019, will the syllabus change that much between now and then?

Would it be OK to use the Lectures and Notes here in preparation for the exam?

I notice that the textbooks that i can buy online say that they only go up to June 2019.

The AA syllabus for 2019-20 is already published here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f8/syllabus-study-guide.html#
and you can the changes summarised on the last page. Most are clarifications, except for the addition of data analytics. So yes, it will be ok to start with the current edition of the notes and lectures except I suggest you disregard the UK CG Code in Chapter 2 as this is revised for 2019-20. When the updated notes are published (should be very shortly after the June 2019 exams) – you will be able to study the UK CG Code and data analytics will be included in Chapter 15.
The Approved publishers should be selling their new editions soon.

    Hello Kim
I know it’s pretty straightforward from the link but just for the sake of clarity, the syllabus hasn’t changed from December right? I had prepared for AA in December completely relying on Opentuition notes and lectures as always but ended up scoring 49. So I’m planning to retake it this coming June. It’s okay if I use my notes and revision kit from December right? Thanks a lot in advance.

ACCA publishes a syllabus each year for an exam year of 4 exam sessions. The current exam year is 2018-19 and the AA exam syllabus and exam docs are the same for S18, D18, M19 and J19.

So yes, everything you have for D18 is valid for J19. As a retake, I recommend you take a look at ACCA’s retake guide for AA https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/p7/retake-guides.html If nothing else, please use it to consider if there were any essential resources which you haven’t yet used – these will add some variety to your resit studies.

Also scroll down this page https://opentuition.com/acca/aa/ – did you use ALL the resources? Even if, for example, you already used all the practice tests when studying for December, going through again now would indicate whether you need to go back and study topics again – or you can just crack on with question practice. If you didn’t use our “AA Mock Exam Section A” – wait until your final revision later in May to attempt it.
