    Hi All,

I have left it to the very last minute to decide what exam to take in June 18.

    My only options are:

P2 – do i take this with the new changes implemented in September 2018.

P4 – do i take this even though it’s going to be one of the harder exams to do.

I am currently retaking P6 for the third time and will also need to take on the new ethics module in september once P1 and P3 change.

Any assistance today would be appreciated as the price goes up after today.

    regards,

    You’re taking P6 in March?

I would suggest taking P2 in June. Yes it’s being changed in September so this is your last opportunity to take it on the current, tried and tested syllabus with a long history of questions to practice on.

    thanks Chris,

Yes I am taking P6 in March.

Is there a high risk in taking P2 in June? considering there is a possibility of having to retake?

many thanks again for your help

Well, although the exam format is changing, the knowledge required for the exam isn’t. It’s more a change of emphasis in the questions where you need to explain and analyse more than calculate. If you were to fail, the knowledge you gained in your first attempt won’t be wasted. It will still be useful for the new format. You will have to practice the new format of questions for the second attempt but this shouldn’t be a lot of extra work.

I would also say that planning which exams to take based on what happens if you fail is the wrong mindset to adopt! Be positive!
