Accumulated profits refer to retained earning which is a revenue reserve from which dividends are often paid out.
Retained profit for the year is the net profit, right?

Difference between accumulated profits and "retained profit for year"
Retained profit for the year is the profit after paying out dividends.
It is added to the accumulated profit (which is also known as retained earnings) which is a revenue reserve.
This is all explained in my free lectures.
