Goodluck everyone .. all the best fingers crossed !!!

I sat ATX and SBR, my last exams. After reading the examiners reports I am expecting/hoping to have passed ATX, but my hopes are not high for SBR, I am preparing myself to resit this is march. I definately struggle more with the theory based exams as opposed to the calulation dominated exams. You never know, I may be wrong and may have passed both and qualified......roll on Sunday night! Good luck to all waiting for results

I'm way too scared. Can't afford to give any exam again. Hopefully it's a pass for me! :(

Hi everyone. I appeared in AAA-INT, as my second PBE. The paper went well in my thought. It was quite similar to the past papers and felt like if someone had a good grip on the basics (i.e AA and SBR), and did atleast the latest past papers, could have done the paper in time. Yes there were some difficult portions but nothing out of the ordinary. I, however, gave the paper in extraordinary situations (my brothers wedding were on going and after attending his reception on the 1st, went to the city where my center was assigned and gave the paper on the 2nd), I am a bit scared but yet excited. Really want to see what limits I can surpass. Good Luck everyone.

I sat my last two papers - AAA and ATX - in December. AAA could go either way but I am not holding my breath regarding ATX so I resumed my ATX revision after Christmas ...

Last year January 1st 2019 I had 3 papers remaining. I hadn't sat an ACCA exam for 2 years out of not being motivated enough to study and laziness, despite never failing an exam and passing everything first time by self studying around 2 months per paper and working full time in London. My new years resolution was to pass at least one exam for that year. Well, I did SBR in March, 60 marks, then I attempted AAA in June, passed with 70. I decided to reward myself with a break and skip the September sitting as I wanted to enjoy the summer and then proceeded to pencil in AFM for December. Here I am, it's now 10th January 2020 and I'm waiting patiently for my AFM result on Sunday. If I pass I'd say it was a very successful year! Q3 was a nightmare so just hoping I smashed Q1 and Q2. Good luck all.

Sat PM.. was a nightmare :( but hopefully answered enough to pass

Just read AFM Examiner's Report from December - bloodbath incoming! Lower average scores than recent sittings. Was 50:50 before reading it... may have to get the notes out this weekend!!

@naz2 said: It was my 10 attempt of last exam APM and I know I have passed, will not share how I know as our respected tutors here told us not to but you all know :) I am not proud of my self that I have done it, feel ashamed when see members here passed all exams the first time. but I am glad it is over.
You should absolutely feel proud. These exams are far from easy and at the end of the day, once qualifed, no one will know how many times you had to resit. You have stuck with this and not given up, which i think many people would have done in your position. Don't let this moment you've been waiting for and working towards for so long be dampended by any kind of Shame. You're potentially two days away from being ACCA qualified!!! You should be getting ready to celebrate

I have passed all my professional papers in the first go. But I've been stuck with ATX. This is my fourth and hopefully last attempt. I really need to pass this paper because I can't afford to give it again. If I fail it will break me completely. I hope I don't take any extreme measures ?

I felt like this with AFM, I really enjoyed FM and decided to do AFM on the back of this. I abolsutely hate it now. I think the exams are just so awful and completely twisted in a different direction each time. It took me 3 attempts to pass and I actually cried with relief when I got the results!. It's so demotivating, especially when you miss it by merely a few marks each time

Right?! I failed on 49 in the first attempt. ACCA should at least be considerate in this regard before failing us from a marks margin. I mean they don't realise the toll it takes on our mental health. Plus how demotivated it makes us. It's very unfair.
CCiara6y ago#13
Yeah I have only struggled at the professional level, the time pressure has caused me on many occassions to make stupid mistakes, which sometimes I have realised after leaving the exam hall but cannot go back and change! The margin fails are so hard, as it means its not down to a lack of knowlede, but more your exam technic. I self study and work full time, so I have no tutor. I have no idea to this day what has been wrong with my technic in the few exams I have failed, as I have no one to tell me, no feedback is given, so you just have to hope you can pick yourself up and pull it off the next time

Where are you located?

Hello guys, It wasn't a long time ago since i finished ACCA-In September 2019 when i received the magic 50% in AAA 2nd attempt. I just want to wish you all the best with your results and express my sympathy to you. I understand your anxiety and stress (as I was in your shoes). Congratulations to all those that will pass and become affiliates on Monday. However, those that will not make it keep going you are nearly there.
JJames6y ago#19
@mamanhussain best of luck to you! we will all pass!!!

I've been really busy with work this week which has been a great distraction. Currently i am hoping for 1 pass and am expecting 1 fail.......so i am not as nervous/stressed as i usually am. But I expect Sunday will be a very long stomach churning kind of day
CCathal6y ago#22
Yep the stress is bad. Annoying that the results used to come on Friday nights which I think we would all agree was much better - didn't linger over you all weekend, and didn't ruin the start of your next week if bad news arrives!
Ddavide646y ago#23
Don't know of any good horror films, however you could always watch 'The Accountant' ;)
AAndy6y ago#24
Hey guys. I am also waiting for results. FM was for me. I only started worrying this weekend as not had enough time to worry with work and usual routine. I really hope I passed as the paper was horrible and exam Centre was absolutely awful in Manchester. Wishing good luck to everyone. Pavel2020, instead horror movie - better to have gin or a bottle of vodka - will be switched off till Monday. Guaranteed. ?

I wrote the dreadful wolf of Wall Street AFM- my 2nd attempt. The paper was very very time pressured. A lot of discussions parts came up with not enough time to think and analyze questions. Part a of question 1 threw me off. The hedging parts were good but I may have made mistakes. Reading the risk management technical article may have helped for one of the discussion parts. I predicted multi netting & VAR as it didn’t came often. Question 2 was also examined differently with lots of discussions. Question 3 is not a typical question but I have seen financial statements reconstruction in past papers & thought it was due to come up so it didn’t throw me off but I didn’t prep much for it so I did what I could. I stuck to the motto “keep calm and carry on, attempt all parts” Passing this paper would be more joyous than qualifying in itself. This paper is tough and never examined the same. There is always some curve ball. IMO, the examiner is moving away from calculations and more into discussion to examine students understanding. My advice to future students is to do the easy parts but make sure to attempt all parts. Practice past papers to learn formulas, techniques and approach and to gain speed. All the best to everyone. I hope this is it for me, I am totally burn out.

Completely agree. Had a little hope, but after the examiners report, im simply taking out the books this weekend. Did two papers in Dec, afm and sbl and am totally burnt out.

Hi Guys, first of all, I wish everyone the best of luck on Sunday's result. in many ways, Opentuition has been a very good place to connect students from all over the world and , where possible they provide unconditional support. I think it is our turn now to payback and if you believe open tuition has helped and wish to make them stand out then, please nominate them for the PQ awards. a link and instructions can be found here https://opentuition.com/acca/ thank you all
