Hi
In the model answer, where does the number of non fare paying passengers for GBC come from? e.g. for Eastern route number of fare paying passengers is 44 (given in Qs) but where does 8 for non fare paying passengers come from?
Thanks
It’s very obscure…. but you are told that for GBC each bus makes 2 journies per day and the occupanvy rate is 60%. Each bus holds 80 passengers, so this means that 80 x 60% x 2 = 96 passengers are carried on each bus each day.
We are told that the number of fare paying passengers per bus [journey] is 44 or 88 on the two trips per day.
So each day there are 96 – 88 non-fare paying passengers.
I think this is the explanation; I would not have got it in the exam. For goodness sake don’t worry about it – the current questions are not really like this and they want to get the pass rate up!
