Hi dear john sir, hope u r good at health. John sir guide me about the following. Point of confusion is abnormal loss.

A job requires 800 kilo material issued from stores at a cost of $6 per kilo. 60 kilo returned. A further 20 kilo were damaged in department and had to be disposed of this was treated as an abnormal loss.

What is direct material cost of job?

I found $6320 as abnormal loss should not be spread over good production

Are you sure that you have typed out the whole question (because it seems a very strange question 🙂 ) ?

Also, I am puzzled where you got $6320 from.

    The job used 800 – 60 – 20 = 720 kg. At $6 per kg, this comes to $4320
