There is no real difference between the meaning of the words ‘configuration’ and ‘structure’, or indeed ‘organisational shape’. Implied behind all of these ‘shapes’ are difference flows of power and different amounts of decentralisation.
You list of terms describe either or both configuration and structure. They are all to do with the shape of the organisation and the way power and decision-making flow. Thus a very tall narrow structure tends to have centralised power, whilst a wide flat one tends to be more decentralised – if for no other reason that it is hard to closely manage a large number of direct subordinates.
