study text says
Cost leadership and product differentiation are not exclusive.
I am encountering not exclusive for first time and i am not sure what it mean here.
My guesses are
A company may not achieve either one.
A company cannot achieve both at same time.
Both are not related.
Please help here. Thanks.
I think the text means to say that they are not mutually exclusive. Some firms can be cost leaders and differentiators at the same time, though it is difficult to pull off. Toyota does it by having a separate up-market brand (Lexus).
