    Hi,

I fear I already know the answer to this, but thought I’d check just in case…I have two ACCA exams left, ATX and SBL. My plan was to sit ATX in June and SBL in September, but with COVID-19 cancellations I decided I could study longer and take both in September. Sadly it seems this isn’t actually possible as they both fall on Tuesday 8 September…

Has anyone taken both exams on the same day? Is it even allowed? I assume it isn’t advisable given the 4-hour SBL exam length (this would have to be the 2:30pm session), but wanted to see if anyone has done it before.

    Thanks

In my day – ok it was long time ago – students sat 5 or 6 exams – two a day – AM and PM over three consecutive days. Things have moved on.

Today, for ACCA, it is not possible to sit more than one exam a day. Because of the 5 different time zones, there is only one exam start time in any one time zone.

I sat two exams on the same day in March so it is possible as long as you get one AM sitting and one PM sitting at the same centre.

Personally I wouldn’t advise it as it’s a long day to try and stay focussed with a very short break in between.

Hi Kim and Beth, thanks for your responses. I was thinking that it may technically be possible as there are options between AM vs PM slots, but I see your point Beth. Particularly as SBL is a 4-hour exam, I’m not sure I’d get through the day! It’s a shame as I was really hopeful I’d complete ACCA in September, I’m getting married in the third week of September and didn’t want to enter married life with ACCA still on my plate!

Ah well, I’ll play the long game and will take SBL in December. It’ll be worth it in the end I’m sure 🙂

    Thanks again.

I stand by my original response and I am reliably informed “it wouldn’t be possible under the timetable to sit ATX and SBL on the same day”.

It is possible to sit on-demand CBEs on the same day but in the UK both SBL and ATX will start at the same time (say 10am) – the same exams will start at earlier in the West (say 8am in the carribbean) and much later in the East (say 4.30pm in Australia). To schedule one exam across all relevant time zones takes a day – it’s not possible to sit more than one in one day.
