CIMA registration enquiry

I would like to start my CIMA journey with Open Tuition. How do I go about registration. Please assist

Hi Maria, You have to register with CIMA directly as a student member. This page on CIMA's website gives you the information you will need: https://www.cimaglobal.com/Studying/Starting-out/ I started CIMA with no financial background so I had to complete the certificate level first (BA) before moving onto the professional qualification. If you have an accounting / finance qualification, you may be exempt from some exams. All this information is on CIMA's website. OpenTuition is a great resource and has been essential to my learning as I progress through CIMA. I would also recommend purchasing the study text and exam kit from kaplanpublishing.co.uk once you start your studies. Good luck!

Thank you so much Thomson?, do this means I don’t have to register through Open Tuition? So Open Tuition only provides learning guidance and materials? All for free except when you want to buy the kits or texts etc?

Hi Maria, this is correct, OpenTuition provides learning material in the form of lectures, lecture notes and tests - completely free! They are solely a tuition provider but the material they produce is excellent. Exams and student registration have to be done directly with CIMA (unfortunately not free). I think, as a student, CIMA's annual membership fee is £120. Each exam on the certificate level costs £95. This increases as you progress through to the professional qualification. Full details on CIMA's fees can be found here: https://www.cimaglobal.com/Starting-CIMA/Starting-CIMA/Fees/ Thanks, Kyle

Dear Colleagues, I am in the process of my CIMA registration, I’ll be an operational level student as soon as I receive my exemption. I have a question, is compulsory to register all 3 subjects at once or one can do them 1by1 and still complete the level in 12 months??

Hi Maria, Great to hear you're starting from Operational level. You can study each subject one by one (this is what I do). For example, I would study E1 - Managing Finance in a Digital world, sit the exam and then move onto study F1 - Financial Accounting and sit the exam. I believe on rare occasions, some people study all at once but that's too difficult for me! Thanks, Kyle

Wow thanks. I I nearly registered for all 3 at once but I think that would have been too much considering I am working full time.
