    Hello
Why is inflation not added every year? What is the clue in the question that tells us not to add it in?

But inflation has been added each year!

The sales revenue and special packaging have been inflated at 5% per year, and the production and selling costs have been inflated at 10% each year (and workings 2, 3, and 4 of the answer show this).

I have uploaded a lecture working through the whole of this question – you can find it linked from ‘Revision Kit live’ from the main P4 page.

Right, thanks…so if they specify the increase then ignore inflation other than for currency purposes?

I don’t understand what it is you are asking. The inflation rates are not ignored – the cash flows have all been inflated at the rates specified in the question.
