    Hello everybody,

Going through this last step in the ACCA accreditation process. Per ACCA website, supervisor which would sign off my working experience needs to be ACCA member or member of accountancy body approved by ACCA.

In the firm I worked for, there are no CA’s, however my direct supervisor was CFA. Surely that accreditation is enough of guarantee for him to be my practical exp. supervisor?

Because if not, seeking outsider accountant like external auditors will be really difficult.

    Thanks for insight!

Sorry, I don’t think so. Although a CFA holder will be a knowledgeable person they’re not an accounting expert.

Incredible. In that case I need to find someone with CA to sign off my CFA managers sign off?

In the case where there is no CA in the firm, ACCA reccommends external auditor of the company to sign off non-ifac supervisor, which I have basically zero chance of happening.

Can I ask a CA from big4 that will sign off my manager, even though they do not have direct work done together (as client-auditor)?

    Thanks

    Hi,

So In order to sign-off your performance objectives your practical experience supervisor should be a qualified accountant recognised by law in your country and/or a member of an International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) body.
    This you can find here
    https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/help/student-faqs-practical-experience-requirements.html#FAQs-about-practical-experience-supervisors
Under the heading “Who can be my practical experience supervisor?”

However, If your line manager isn’t qualified they can still sign-off the relevant time you are claiming in your role. You can then nominate a second, qualified, practical experience supervisor to work with your line manager to sign-off your performance objectives.
To know more about nominating a second qualified supervisor check the following link
    https://www.accaglobal.com/gb/en/help/student-faqs-practical-experience-requirements.html#FAQs-about-practical-experience-supervisors
Under the heading “Who can be my practical experience supervisor if my line manager is not qualified?”

    Hope this helps.
