In this question, it asks: using appropriate models and frameworks, analyse GET's current strategic position from both an internal and external perspective.
I immediately thought SWOT, however it first uses PESTEL for external them Porter's then strengths and weaknesses for financial analysis. Does it just depend on the scenario detail or how would I know. Is it because it's a 20 mark question therefore I know I need to really analyse it!

8y ago#1SWOT always works, but other models can be used to help generate ideas. So, PESTEL generates ideas for external opportunities and threats, as does Porter's forces. M-words (for resources) generate ideas for strengths and weaknesses (Money = financial resources/position).
It is more impressive if you can use a model or two in addition to SWOT.
