Hi sir, what is the downfall of providing too generous benefits-in-kind for the director ?
BiK are part of directors’ remuneration. Some jurisdictions might require reporting of only conventional salary so that BiK are kept secret from shareholders. That is obviously not good.
If BiK have to be disclosed I don’t see any problem as shareholders have access to full information. Note that corporate governance codes say that directors’ remuneration, of which BiK are part, should be in line with what is required to attract directors of the right caliber.
