    Hi

Can you please advise how to do the following calculation on a calculator?

    4 root of 350/200 -1 (Growth formula)

    The answer should be 15%

Fourth root is the same as applying two square roots. So, using the square root key:

    The square root of 350/200 = 1.32288
    The square root of 1.32288 = 1.15

    1.15 – 1 = 0.15 or 15%

Or, use the x^y key (the key saying X with y as a superscript. The fourth root is the raising to the poser of 1/4 = 0.25. Therefore (350/200= 1.75):

Enter 1.75, press the x^y key, enter 0.25, press = and you get 1.15.

    Simlarly, the 5th root = 1/5 = 0.2. So to get the 5th root of 32, say:

Enter 32, press the x^y key, enter 0.20, press = and you get 2. [Check, 2 raised to the power of 5 is 32]
