So I sat this sittings P2 Exam and I’m not too confident that i did enough to get 50%. I told the invigilator that I signed up for the International one and he said “he’ll see what he could do”, and swapped my exam. 15 mins or more later he came back to my desk and tells me that I can’t do the international one even though I’ve started making my notes on it and gives me the UK variant back and says I have to do that instead. That threw me straight away as I couldn’t even answer the 2 questions that related to the UK syllabus plus I managed my time poorly and ended up spending more time on Q1a than i should have. Q2 left me dumbfounded so I made an attempt at 3 and 4.

Now I’m stuck on what to do, should I start preparing for the next exam (not decided on which one yet but BPP courses start next week) before I get my result and possibly end up doing 2 exams in September or should I Just start studying for the SBR that I’ll possibility have to sit?

I reckon start studying for the next exam. You never know, you could have passed it.

If you spend the next 6 weeks studying for SBR but you passed, you’ve wasted those 6 weeks and then only have 7 weeks until the next exam. Plus you’ll have missed out on courses.

If you start studying for the next exam and find out you’ve failed, you haven’t wasted any time as you can still sit that exam in September. Whether you decide to sit for SBR at the same time is up to you. You could do both at the same time or you could just concentrate on the next exam then sit for SBR in December, knowing whether you have passed or failed this time so you can start studying in September.

    Thanks,

I was thinking about doing that but I saw someone comment saying that the new SBL exam is syllabus may take longer to study than the other exams. Also since it’ll be the first time sitting i’m not sure how the pass rates be like.

Another option I has was wait until results and then chose the option to study the BPP course in July and then take 2 exams in December as opposed to 1 every 3 months

The new SBL exam is longer yes, but SBR is around the same difficulty as P2. So you need to do P2/SBR, SBL and your 2 options?

You could take one of your 2 option papers in September instead?

I was thinking about doing the dreaded P4 and P5 as my optional papers as I work in management accounts. However, I’m not sure about the order in which to take them. Doesn’t the current P5 share similar aspects of P3 so would it be best to do SBL before P5?

Also the pass rates for the optional exams scare me, they’re so low.

Optional papers are the most difficult, hence why the very very low pass rate. Don’t sit 2 optional papers in the same exam sitting if you have a full time job, not unless you start preparing at least 6months before the exams and you sit down nearly every day to study.

It’s so annoying the results take so long to come out. I just want to know what I got so I can just get on with studying if I failed or moving onto the next exam.
