I passed with A grade on first attempt! Many thanks to Mr. Irwin from The Learning Luminarium. Mr. Irwin challenged me to see things from various angles and think deeper on the subject. At the same time, he encouraged and guided me all the way to the end. TLL was no doubt the best choice for me!
March 26, 2018 at 9:47 am #443772@kotesh – Thank you for the kind testimonial! I remember the nights that you burned through just to get the report up to the desired quality. I also enjoyed the cut and thrust as we debated certain points 🙂
It was my privilege to have been your mentor. Congrats on the A.
@Jennyj – For a young, full time student, I am immensely proud of the academic maturity that you had. And how you did not give up despite the challenges you faced in addressing the inexperience you had.
You fully deserved the A grade. Do have a great celebration!Irwin

I tumbled across the Learning Luminarium on Open Tuition website. I choose the premium package as I knew I needed the extra attention. Irwin was my mentor and he was great. He instantly replied to all my questions and was always available through whatsapp. He guided me thoroughly and read through my work many times. The continuous criticisms made me improve my work profoundly which ultimately got me an “A” in my project. I hesitated a lot initially to book with them due to the high price but I can say that it was definitely worth it given the result I achieved!!!
April 2, 2018 at 4:51 am #444443Just passed my OBU on my second attempt and all thanks to my mentor – Irwin Loh from Learning Luminarium who is extremely familiar with the requirements and expectations from the examiner. I was with a different tuition provider the last time and the mentor was rusty and did not have sufficient knowledge and skills.
Irwin was attentive and responsive to all my questions via email, texts and skype call. Having a mentor who is almost 24/7 available to answering your questions and providing guidance is exactly what you need doing your thesis when all sorts of questions/doubts/uncertainties would arise along the way.
I highly recommend anyone who really want to pass their OBU to consider Learning Luminarium, especially Irwin Loh as their mentor.

I have also passed my research project with an A on my first attempt. Admittedly this was with a great support from my mentor Irwin from Learning Luminarium. I have read their reviews and recommendations on this site and decided to go for it. There was no question too small or too silly to ask and Irwin had a way of encouraging me to think outside of the box to achieve goal I set up for myself (highest possible mark available).
Reading all of these reviews they might sound cheesy but everything written is true – Irwin was quick to reply to queries, friendly and approachable, knowledgeable and critical when needed.
Therefore I would recommend to give them a try.August 3, 2018 at 1:59 am #465916How do you find a mentor on open tuition?
August 3, 2018 at 8:56 am #465942Click on our websites (links to these are either below or on the original post by the Open Tuition Team on p.1 of this thread)
I then have a contact page where you can email me and I imagine the Learning Luminarium has the same!

September 19, 2018 at 2:56 pm #475227I passed with grade A. Thanks to Trephena and OT for recommending The Learning Luminarium(TLL). Adrian Tan my mentor at TLL really challenged me to work for my grade. He was critical and will never spoon feed me. So this forced to do extra reading and extra research. I really learnt a lot writing the report. Honestly, I was hoping for a C grade but here I am with an A, can’t believe it !. From my experience, I think registering with TLL for mentorship is your safest bet if you need a good grade and you are prepared to work for it.I am more than happy to recommend them.
September 19, 2018 at 4:09 pm #475229I would definitely recommend Irwin from the Learning Luminarium as a mentor for the ACCA OXford Brookes degree in applied accounting.
Irwin’s advice and recommendations were crucial elements of my successful RAP. From the beginning of the mentoring process, he was supportive and provided guidance on the RAP.
Irwin promptly responded with comments to all emails and Whatsapp messages in a timely manner. His comments were the most significant part of the mentoring process.
The comments guided me in the right direction or made me examined critical points associated with the RAP
I highly recommend Irwin and The Learning Luminarian mentoring service.
Value for your money guaranteed!

I was struggling with my rap and decided to contact TLL for help..a decision I don’t regret because I got an A on my first attempt. My first draft before irwin’s review was a total mess but through his guidance and feedback I was able to get back on track. He was very accommodating as I kept asking a lot of questions.i liked that he always responded to my queries within the shortest time and was reachable 24 hrs.he clearly had a lot of knowledge and experience and knew what markers were looking for .i therefore encourage anyone looking for a good mentor to try Irwin of TLL
September 23, 2018 at 1:50 pm #475580Mentor: Irwin Loh (TLL)
Result: B grade – Upper Second Class (Hons)I was writting 2(two) thesis at one time, one was OBU and the other was in Philosophy of Ethics. I was kept focused and targeted. Progress and Achievement comes from hardwork, dedication and investing in the right resources.
The one sentence that motivated me to pick TLL was – we have made all the mistakes, there are no mistakes left to make. The only ‘one’ thing left to do is pass and pass with a flying grade.
My B (Upper Second Class) is based on the marks achieved in ACCA papers + RAP. My avg. score in my ACCA papers was a mere 60% therefore the B (Upper Second Class) is actually the highest class that I could be awarded, meaning that the RAP was very good!
TLL is a team of professionals and they are in this field for a long time who understand the challenges faced by full-time students and the working class thus reciprocating in the most effective manner.
I can write alot of things but would rather recommend that you choose TLL and experince it first hand!
And yes Go Premium!
Thanks Irwin 🙂

The Learning LuminariumSeptember 23, 2018 at 6:30 pm #475589I have utilize the Learning Luminarium to submit my RAP for period 36 and achieved a first time pass. Irwin ( my mentor) was very patient, encouraging when it became frustrating and promptly replied to questions even though there is a huge time difference. Irwin’s advice for sure helped with my positive result. I would definitely recommend the Learning Luminarium. Good luck everyone.

I would like to recommend my mentor Irwin from Learning Luminarium.
With Irwin’s help, I manged to pass my resubmission in 2018. I thought I did enough for my first submission in 2016, but with Irwin’s guidance, I improved weak areas where I failed for first time.
Irwin is obviously very familiar with the whole system of Obu rap project and he points out details where I couldn’t pay enough attention and I guess that’s why we need a good mentor. A good mentor doesn’t write the rap for us, they help us to follow rules as well as consolidate our own ideas in the paper.
It was a pleasant journey to complete this project with Irwin and Learning Luminarium. Thank you!

I have trusted Irwin from The Learning Leminarium to mentor me for the OBU project and would recommend him to anyone looking for a quality mentor who does live up to his promise!
I am qualified and in a senior finance role now, living and working between two countries, albeit, without a formal degree till recently. So not only i did not have much time, but also, were not very good with major pieces of written work.
Irwin has been with me throughout the whole journey providing invaluable insight to the topic, feeding back on the parts i had already drafted (he had great examiner perspective) and sharing tips for the remaining parts.
But what made the most difference to me was that Irwin was able to accommodate my always changing schedule. I had postponed, after already starting, by two years first time. Just as it looked i would have to do it again, risking going over 10 yrs limit, with just four weekends left till deadline, Irwin managed to reschedule the meetings and presentation, read my part submissions and fed back the same day which meant i submitted 10 hours before deadline.
I am extremly pleased with the C grade and 2.1 overall degree i have received last week. In short, as long as you have the will to engage with the project, Irwin will be there for you and i trully believe his involvement is tge difference between the pass or fail in this project.
The value added of my work with Irwin is a BSc degree and possibility to further my career by applying for masters degree course but most of all a skill and confidence in researching and writting reports.
Thank you Irwin, it was a pleasure to work with you.September 28, 2018 at 12:35 pm #475929Many thanks to OT for this platform, where l got to know about TLL and also a million thanks to my mentor lrwin from the LEarning Luminarium who helped me to come up with a positive result.l was a last minute student, despite the limited time l had Irwin’s advice and recomendations where very helpful hence achieving a pass grade.
Irwin was very patient with me and always encouraged me that l can do it, whenever l feel like giving up.Irwin was very proffessional and despite 13 hours time difference l would always get a promot reply.I would highly recommend Irwin, so long you are willing to work hard, you will definitely get positive results.

I found Learning Luminarium through this platform. My mentor was Adrian Tan. He gave clear direction and guided me through the whole project in an organised way. He shared his views on my idea as well as his expectation on each topic, what is expected to be discussed and to be analysed in detailed.
I passed my RAP first time and achieved grade A. I never done a research study before. I struggled at the beginning. I don’t even know how should be the structure of a research paper. I really appreciate my mentor Adrian.
Student needs to have self-discipline to complete each section step by step in a targeted timeline. I would say time management is very important. Working adult really have to push yourself to work it out.

@leewenHello dear students! Thank you for the kind testimonials that you have provided. Coincidentally, all of you share the same profile of not being a full-time student. We clearly remember how tight your schedule is and how some of you had young kids to care for as well!
Regardless of the grades you got, we must compliment you for an amazing job in passing this project. All we did give our best in mentoring, as you rightly pointed out – the hard work is done by you 🙂
We trust this achievement sharpened your skills and brings you to closer to your goals! All the very best and thank you again.
Best wishes,
Irwin (and on behalf of Adrian too)
The Learning LuminariumOctober 17, 2018 at 11:14 pm #479011I passed my RAP with A at my first attempt. Many thanks to Irwin (TLL) who guided me through the whole project. I decided to avail of TLL mentoring based on the testimonials and OT recommendation. This was the best decision that I could have taken.
I had never written a project before and I did not know how to start. I was very worry not to be able to pass my RAP but thanks to Irwin’s directions and support I gained self confidence and complete the project.
I am self motivated person, however understanding is important for me to be able to complete a task. This was not a problem for Irwin as I have never felt that I could not ask a question.
I was able to submit all my queries to Irwin who replied to my emails and clarified any doubts within 24 hours.
Irwin was very flexible when scheduling our meeting and this was important for me as having a full time job my availability was during the weekend or evenings.
During our meeting I was able to discuss any parts of the project that I was struggling with, Irwin was always ready to shared his point of view that helped me to see things from different angle. This improved my understanding and directed me during my research.
I would definitely recommend Irwin to everybody. Thanks Irwin for your patience and help.Gabriella
October 22, 2018 at 2:21 am #479414Hi Gabriella,
Thanks for the very kind review. I will remember you for a long time because I had rarely met someone who works full time, and had the discipline to dedicate so much time and effort to the project. The brilliant research you uncovered on Tesla and your analysis – it was a joy to be your mentor.
May the skills you picked up in this successful project, lead to greater success in the future!
Wishing you the very best,
Irwin
The Learning LuminariumMarch 11, 2019 at 7:02 am #508986Rumour has it that the release of results is going to be delayed (you will recall that there were serious issues with P37 and that not only was the submission window frozen and then extended but the automated process was not available).
Although it has not been confirmed yet, I understand the results may not be available for another couple of months…..
April 30, 2019 at 1:24 am #514547I guess I just can’t wait till September to show my appreciation to the Learning Luminarium!
Living in North America, with a handful of ACCA peers, most of the journey I was by myself. So when I started planning my RAP, I really wanted to have a local mentor who can meet up with me regularly. But before I made my first contact, I checked recommendations from Opentuition. Then I found the Learning Luminarium was the most recommended mentor. Reading through other students’ experience, I felt Learning Luminarium has all the quality I want although they’re located in Singapore. I was proved right! During past year, Irwin was guiding me through the whole RAP process step by step. He was so professional and extremely patient. I felt so fortunate to have Irwin as my mentor, someone has a lot of experiences and same time has very good judgement. Without his guidance, I don’t think I can come this far. Right now, I’m all DONE and READY to submit! ( I know, the portal is not open yet) I’m confident in my RAP, and I’ll come back to this forum in September when the result is released! Good luck everyone 😛May 14, 2019 at 7:18 am #515838I just received an email from OBU today that I passed the rap for period 37. So I guess period 37 results have been released to everyone else as well. It was so unexpected since I was really nervous about my rap but my mentor, Irwin from the Learning Luminarium, was extremely helpful. I could NOT have done it without him, to be honest. He was very professional as well as super friendly with me which made it comfortable to discuss the entire project with him. It was my first ever research report to write so I applaud his patience since I asked a lot of untimely questions, which regardless of our 12-hour difference, he immediately answered. I do not know what grade I got, I’ll update that as well as soon as I find out myself. For any other student who is thinking about which mentor to choose, I suggest going for the Learning Luminarium, especially Irwin. There would be no disappointment. Best of luck to everyone for the current and future periods!
May 15, 2019 at 1:09 pm #515997I have just passed my OBU degree on my first attempted and I would like to thanks my mentor Irwin Loh who is very familiar with the requirement and expectations from the examiner. Remember that for the first draft of my RAP was very bad and I feel like giving up but my mentor Irwin was very patient and encouraged me and provided me a lot of tips and guidance to help me, and after a few rounds my RAP finally on the right track. my mentor Irwin almost work at 24/7 and replied me email and Skype very promptly to answer all my questions and comments so that I can revised and rewrite my RAP in time. I highly recommend my mentor Irwin from Learning Luminaries and he is very professional and experience. at last if you want to pass please look for Irwin and I believe that every call or you spend is worth.
