erm…..you can try, but with a 47 it is probably certain that you will not be successful.

    Hi,

I got 49% on the P7 exam in the June 2011 sitting and decided to send off for an administration review….

It was pretty much a waste of money as all they do is add up the marks again and check against the markers sheets (they dont actually remark it!).

I really wanted to send the review off just based on the hope that they missed a mark or two, which is probably how your feeling now, but all the review did was confirm what I already knew deep down… that my mark would stay the same for the cost of £50ish!

I would recommend not to bother with the review and use the money saved to put towards your next sitting/retake.

I’ve just passed P7 this sitting and found that more question practise definately helps and sticking strictly to time allowances (1.8 mins per mark).

    Good luck.
    Andrew.

What is the procedure for an administrative review do you just fill the form and post it to the address given or can you email it? and do they send you a written notification that the received the form by email? and does the feedback you get is it by an email or is it given to you by post?

    thanks in advance

i am yet to know anyone who succeeded in this respect, after all going through the review successfully will put the credibililty of the entire results in doubts.

It’s a complete waste – I was so shocked when I got my results, I was sure they had made a mistake as I was confident I passed (I had never before been confident and still passed) – but it’s a total waste and the system is not fair. I really thought thye had mixed my marks up with someone else!

I agree with all of the above. It’s a pure waste of money and quite frankly I don’t think ACCA should be allowed to get away with treating their students like this. How are you supposed to progress and pass the paper the next time when you don’t know the reason for failing it in the first place. In my opinion ACCA are a pure money racket and have no interest in their students welfare.

It is not a review, it is just a way to take more money of you. The only reason I can see for paying £50. is once you got the feedback (which tells you next to nothing) and you still don’t agree you can write in and ask for it to be assessed.

If it was a proper review they would not be scared of sending you your scanned paper along with the actual marks and markers commments. That way you can see if either your confidence in passing the paper was misplaced and you can see when to improve next time. In fact I would pay money even on some of the papers I passed!

I gather CIMA does something like that, but that does not suprise me. It appears CIMA are way ahead of ACCA in so many ways.

I failed F7 first time on 47 marks. I in my heart was expecting 60 to 70 marks. I didnt go for review. i accepted the failure and in my second attempt i got 64 marks. I advise all of you that accept failure and challenge yourself. Pray a lot for yourself and others. I think if someone is failing exam on or above 40 marks it means he/she has a good knowledge of that paper but does not know to apply it in the exams

I attempted F5 this December and got results scored 49 and I am thinking to send it for administrative review. Will it be useful that there is some hope I will pass rather than resitting for exam.

Don’t bother going for an administration review. It’s a waste of money.

Don’t bother! Applied for one a few sittings ago and what a waste of time it was. Think I saw an article somewhere (could be pq) that stated the chances of getting a change in mark was 1/1000, and the result still did not change!
