I dont understand why minus 18 mths instead of 24 mths?

    31/3/2002 – 31/3/2016 = 168 mths

    1/4/2010 – 31/3/2016 = 72 mths

    1/4/2007 – 1/4/2009 =24 mths

    why not 168-(72-24)??

You will have to give me all the information from the question and the answer.
If however you are looking at this from the ACCA website, which from the dates you give I think you are – then you should NOT be using the past exams on the site as the questions and answers have NOT been updated for changes in legislation that have taken place since the question was set!
You must purchase a FA 2018 question bank from one of the ACCA approved providers!
DO NOT use the past exams from the ACCA website for TX-UK.
