My first attempt I got 48% SBL and 46%SBR. I thought I had done my best in the Exam room on my first attempt on CBE after just 1 months of preparation for CBE as I was book for the paper exam. Its very painful to look at my ACCA profile now. I wish there was a way to delete these painful results I could have handled it wee if these marks were below 45%.

Don't feel disheartened, keep trying, never give up. I passed on my third attempt and I went through 95% of the exam questions in a Kaplan exam kit, highlighted and re-read them 2 hours in the eve, 6 hours per day on the weekend for 2.5 months....

Hiya - I passed SBR with 79% Advice - do not spend so much time on the study text, get straight into the questions it covers the entire syllabus and I thought its a better way for info to stick in my head. I spent 3 weeks learning, and then the rest of the 3 weeks revising questions. My method was going through the exam kit and answering every single question in the kit, I actually went through this twice. The second time i did the questions I attempted the questions in the practice to pass platform so I become super comfortable with the software. Make sure you're strong with group accounts and ethics as it makes up 50% of the paper! Ethics is usually like 20/25 marks and it's quite repetitive, even doing 2/3 past paper questions on ethics you'll notice how similar it is... Answer in short paragraphs, 2/3 sentences, leave lots of spaces so it's easier to mark. Stick to your timings, if you're spending too much time on a question move on, it was hard to do when practising but on the day i was strict, and made sure i answered each question. Make sure you know a little bit about each of the standards (don't need to know the numbers), but if you're able to explain the background of each one you'll be fine. Financial instruments are super important in this paper too it appears in every exam so ensure you're strong on it. Finally I read the examiner reports for the previous 3 sittings. Hope this helps :)
